Fifth Floor Common Room; Monday Evening [ 09/20 ].

Sure, Ariel had said just streamers and a banner, but there were balloons now thrown into the mix because she couldn't help it. She and Ellie had gotten up all the decorations, which were all very pretty shades of green, based entirely on the fact that Ariel remembered that green was the color of the shirt she'd helped Chuck pick out. There was still an awful lot of flowers around, too, though who even knew where Ariel was getting them. The banner, meanwhile, was certainly not lacking in sparkle, stretched across the room:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHUCK!!!!!

So now there would just be the setting out of all the food and the drinks and ever important CAKE, then waiting for guests and the ever important BIRTHDAY BOY and it would be time to party!

Show up and hang out and celebrate and eat cake! Hanging out and eating cake is what Chuck said he wanted, after all.

There's punch, soda, pop, chips, cookies, and of course Cheetos. And probably any other snack food you could want, unless it was sushi. Ariel just did not do sushi, no way.

For when the birthday boy's sister pings in with her fabulous cakery.

While the party itself isn't a surprise, the fact that Ariel invited the whole student body probably is. So, when he got there, you'll have to make your presence particularly notable, right?

Because people with birthdays get presents! There's a very prettily decorated table with, of course, a glittery sign, denoting where to leave them for Chuck if you brought one.

I like how Pandora played an ad mentioning the new season of Chuck while I was posting this. And also a little freaked out. IT KNOOOOWS.

William? Miss his "big brother"'s birthday party? Of course not! So, yep. Here he was, hanging out ~~in a SP because of work fashion~~.

"William, hi!" Ariel waved like it hadn't been just yesterday since they last saw each other. "I'm glad you came!"

Well, yesterday they had been rather busy serving their solemn duty at detention...

Or, okay, considering the 'punishment' in question maybe not so solemn.

"I wouldn't miss it for the world, Miss Ariel," he replied. "Chuck's my 'big brother' after all."

Christian was there less because of Chuck's birthday than because of the hostess. Not that he didn't appreciate a proper birthday celebration.

He was on time, seeming cheerful about the entire prospect.

Ellie was not going to miss a birthday party for her brother. She had even helped decorate for the occasion, after all.

Ellie placed the cake (http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l165/Landslide418/Miscellaneous/Random/cake.jpg) down in the middle of the refreshments table. She was kind of proud of it considering the short notice. She hoped Chuck liked it, especially.

"Miss Bartowski, I presume?" William wandered over, having spotted her setting up the cake.

The birthday boy was... not expecting quite this show, no. You'd have to excuse him for looking a little shell-shocked. He'll probably get over that after a few minutes.

It was a happy sort of dazed, at least. Someone threw him a party! Who wasn't related to him or anything! It was kind of new.

Aw, YAY PARTY. Thank you so much! :D

(In other news, yes, eee new canon tonight! Spooky Pandora chooses good things to be all psychic about.)

Rilla heard the sounds of a party on her floor and wandered down. "Good evening," she said with a smile.

Rilla tried not to be a complete idiot when she saw William. "Good evening," she said with a concerted effort not to lisp.

Rilla waved at him. "Christian! It's been simply ages!"

Rilla was slightly prone to exaggeration.

Um, yeah, once he got over his surprise, Chuck would be making a beeline for that cake. He knew Ellie-made food. He knew so very well that was where he wanted to be.

"Years and years," Christian -- who never minded exaggeration -- said with a grin. "How have you been? Should I congratulate you on your elected office?"

"If you'd like," Rilla said, beaming. "It was my first election ever. I believe it turned out rather well."

"You won, so of course it did," Christian laughed. "Though I'm not quite sure what my class was thinking of, voting my sibling president."

Rilla's nose wrinkled. "Mister Karev?" she replied. She wouldn't admit to any lack of formality with one who insulted her cooking (and thus wounded her feelings) as he had.

Lindsay considered Chuck to be a friend and he still reminded her of her little brother. So she felt like she should stop by.

"Hi! Yep, that's me. William, right?" Ellie said in response. "I think we're in a class together."
