Fifth Floor Common Room; Monday Evening [ 09/20 ].

Sure, Ariel had said just streamers and a banner, but there were balloons now thrown into the mix because she couldn't help it. She and Ellie had gotten up all the decorations, which were all very pretty shades of green, based entirely on the fact that Ariel remembered that green was the color of the shirt she'd helped Chuck pick out. There was still an awful lot of flowers around, too, though who even knew where Ariel was getting them. The banner, meanwhile, was certainly not lacking in sparkle, stretched across the room:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHUCK!!!!!

So now there would just be the setting out of all the food and the drinks and ever important CAKE, then waiting for guests and the ever important BIRTHDAY BOY and it would be time to party!

[[ up early because of evil things like working and time zones! Slowly approaching OCD is on the way up! Rock out! ]]

The birthday boy was... not expecting quite this show, no. You'd have to excuse him for looking a little shell-shocked. He'll probably get over that after a few minutes.

It was a happy sort of dazed, at least. Someone threw him a party! Who wasn't related to him or anything! It was kind of new.

"Hey Chuck," Lindsay greeted, waving. "Happy birthday."

Chuck offered a wave in return, and beamed at Lindsay. "Hey, yeah, thank you! And thank you for coming along. I kind of... wasn't expecting people. Cake yes, people no. But this is better." He was getting into this by now. It just took a little time.

"Parties are definitely better with people," Lindsay agreed. "So, how old are you anyway?"

"Sixteen, now," he answered, nodding. "Well, as of Saturday, anyway. I did the whole three minute dating thing then, and kind of thought that would be the beginning and end of celebrations."

"Oh hey, so we're the same age now. At least until January." That was kind of weird since she thought of him like a little brother. "Hope sixteen's a good year for you."

Bruce walked toward Check, putting on a friendly smile, and holding his hand out to shake. "Happy birthday, Chuck," he said.
