Third Floor Common Room, Monday Morning

Kate had not been pleased to find herself still a dude when she'd woken up today. It wasn't that she had a huge problem with it as such herself, it was just that she was kind of worried for the sanity of a certain someone else.

But there was nothing she could really do about it, so she'd just wandered down into the common room and decided it was a day for baking. Everyone would appreciate chocolate chip muffins, right?

(Kate, by the by, was not mature enough to not laugh at the fact that they had nuts in them.)

A couple of batches of muffins baked and set on the counter to be taken, she flopped down onto one of the couches and started leafing through an issue of Cosmo. Trying to see if she could get a male perspective on it today.

"That sounds like me", said with a faint smile. "Well, your coolness is enviable, more if it's not the first time it happens to you."

He meant every word, by the way. Sarcasm wasn't Cloud's strong suit

"Nah, I think it gets easier to stay calm when it's not the first time," Kate mused, shrugging a shoulder. "Though even that probably won't help everyone."

"Yeah, it's certainly getting others worst." And that would be the proper time to thank the island to keep him unchanged.

Cloud took another muffin. "Do you have a recipe for these?"

"Got it online," Kate replied, waving a lazy hand in the general direction of the kitchen area. "I think the paper's still somewhere on the counter over there."

And it was. "It's a pretty basic recipe, though."

Cloud nodded as he retrieved the receipt and eyed it. "I've never been able to cook anything tasty." Edible? Sure. Nourishing? Perhaps, if you could stand it, but tasty was a bit of a stretch. "Might as well start with something simple and eat them myself. To minimize the casualties." As Kate had mentioned, he could find all the ingredients easily.

Be afraid, Fandom. Be very afraid.

Well, Fandom had survived Karla's cooking, too. Though mostly by avoiding it for dear life.

"That's generally a good plan, yeah," Kate replied idly. "We had a cooking class, but the teacher only stayed here for that one semester."

"No sense on poisoning everyone", agreed Cloud with a sigh. "I heard of it; that would be one class for me to fail." As impossible as it seemed to reprove anything on Fandom, Cloud was sure he didn't want to be exception that confirmed the rule.

"I don't know, chef Tatou was a pretty good teacher," Kate replied, lips pursing in thought. "But of course, my little brother's practically a skinny teen gay Martha Stewart, so maybe I have some special aptitude for cooking too."

She didn't always bother remembering not everyone in Fandom was from Earth and would get her references.
