Third Floor Common Room; Saturday Afternoon [ 11/06 ].
Yesterday had been so strange that Alexander felt the need to just sort of relax a little and find himself some nice distractions. He didn't typically watch a lot of television, but decided it was the sort of entertainment that might be called for after a day like the one before.
Of course, that was before he turned it on and started changing the channels to a horrible discovery. He didn't know if it was the television or what, but it seemed that every channel was playing nothing but musicals.
"That is not amusing, television," Alexander informed it with a frown, clicking the machine off.
He was just going to read a book instead.

... Mostly to see if there was any ice cream in the freezer that he could snag while nobody was looking, yes.
"Anything good on?"
no subject
"Not particularly," he said with a disappointed sigh, glancing ruefully at the dark screen. "All I could find were musicals, but perhaps someone else would have better luck."

So he made a beeline for the vanilla ice cream, instead. He was a puppy of simple tastes.
"Musicals, huh? That's kinda weird. You can't even find music on the music channels, most days." Which made Earth even weirder, in Zack's estimation. "Maybe we can find a football game or something? There aren't many football musicals, right?"
He snagged a spoon from the drawer, and then plopped down on the couch, ice cream tub and all.

"You just have to know how to reason with these things," he decided, turning on the TV, which promptly started singing to him about the Circle of Life. Huh. "I mean, technology's technology, right?"
Another click, right to the sports channel.
... Which was playing some sort of musical remake of that movie about baseball-playing angels. Did they even make a musical remake of that movie?
"Theoretically...?"

At least he'd been a very musical dog?
Zack heaved a sigh, and then clicked the television off again.
"I like music as much as the next guy, but that's maybe just a little overkill, there."

"When the book starts to sing, then I think we're going to have to admit defeat," he decided. "Is it a good book, anyhow?"
Zack was not much of a reader, but he could so this 'polite conversation' thing like a pro.

There was probably a bit of cosmic irony that she herself hadn't sung anything.

Give him a minute, and Zack might even think to offer some of the vanilla ice cream that he's currently hoarding, too.

"But you're putting on the show for the people who are already there, right? I mean, sometimes you just have to be a little showy, to keep people happy?"
no subject
But at Zack's comment, she snorted a laugh. "I think that's what the balls and parties are for."
no subject
"But aren't balls and parties showy, too?"

He was in Glee Club, after all.
