Cheerleading Practice, The Gym, Wednesday after classes

Harper had been in a bit of a daze all week. She wasn't sure why, but all she could think about was kissing boys. She was still daydreaming when she started setting up for practice, which is why the set up mats all over the gym until she ran out. Someone had forgotten how many cheerleaders to expect.

There's plenty of room for that, and Harper might even snap out of her daydreams if someone talks to her.

Yes, stretching. In the tiny skirts. But Medusalith was distracted from thinking about the tiny skirts by thoughts of, well. Blackagar.

Today was the first day that Rilla didn't find the skirts completely horrifying.

Only mostly. Which she'd tell anyone who asked.

If you can pull yourself together. Yes, Harper will have trouble with that today.

Blackagar was there to watch practice. Yes. In a completely non-creepy at all manner.

...he was only really there to watch Medusa. Don't judge him.

Medusa who was stretching in a tiny skirt? That Medusa?

...and now Blackagar was just going to sit here for a while. Hormones weren't very nice when you could no longer control your reactions to them.

Blackagar waved back,trying not to let his eyes drift down from her face. It wasn't exactly working.

OR IT MIGHT END VERY WELL.

She was just going to...wander over his way. Even though she knew it was probably a bad idea. "Good afternoon," she said tentatively.

WHY WERE YOU TRYING TO DESTROY THE ISLAND, MEDUSA? WHAT DID IT EVER DO TO YO--oh riiiiight.

Blackagar nodded back, looking away quickly once he realized he was staring at her legs. Was this all they did here?

SHE DIDN'T WANT TO DESTROY THE ISLAND. SHE JUST WANTED TO GET LAID. IF THE ISLAND HAS TO BE A CASUALTY, WELL THEN.

"We cheer," she reported. "Ostensibly for sports teams, but as the school has none, I am not sure I understand the purpose. And we do acrobatic stunts."

Yeah. Picture that, Blackagar.

...he was. God help him, he was. Did she perform them often? And was it possible to have a demonstration?

Blackagar paused, frowning at himself. He hadn't really meant to add that last bit aloud.

Well, technically he hadn't, thank God. But yes, Medusalith 'heard' him loud and clear. And said, "I'm sure we will be doing them soon." Because that wasn't a terrible idea.

Close enough when it came to communicating with her!

He bit his lip, watching her out of the corner of his eye. Really?

Really! "After we finish warm-ups. I don't particularly need to, but apparently terrible things could happen to the humans if they don't stretch their muscles before engaging in...physical activity."

Or they could blow cheerleading practice right off and go check out that room that did terrible things to her hair.

That was so many kinds of cruel, Medusa.

Blackagar nodded, wiping suddenly damp palms off on his pants. He should probably meditate for a bit now. Just in case.

It was not intentional, she promised. "...yes, I think that might be best," she agreed.

Explosions = bad.

She could help after she finished with all this?

Because that wasn't also a horrible idea, you know. Nope. Not at all.

"I would love to join you." To help, of course. "I love you." And now she would just be clapping her hand over her mouth and turning the shade of red only achievable by very fair-skinned people, to be followed by removing her hand, straightening her shoulders, and saying, "Well, I do." So there.

Blackagar's smile softened at that and he leaned forward to kiss her as his response. Because she would know what it meant, thank you.

She did. And she was kind of smiling like a dope when she reluctantly pulled back from it. "I should..." she gestured to the other cheerleaders. Dammit.

Twirling his hand into her hair carefully, Blackagar nodded. He'd just wait here for her, alright?

And possibly test how much control a teenage boy could have.

Why must you torture yourself so, Blackagar?

Medusa was just going to go back over to the other cheerleaders. And stretch some more. And fail in her attempts to think about other things. Yes.

Honestly, I would hate to end the world on Honesty Day.
