What had appeared to be a blank wall in the Labyrinth suddenly swung open. Anyone anxiously watching through it would see what appeared to be a village, filled with goblins throwing down their weapons and beginning to flee as the nearby castle (how had they not seen the castle over the walls?!?) began to crumble and fall in on itself.

The goblins were running hither and yon through the Labyrinth, ignoring the open gates. But there were people coming through--familiar people. The members of both teams that had braved the Labyrinth were streaming through, as were all of the kidnapped students, some still fighting goblins up to the very threshold of the gate.

When the last of the Fandom folk came staggering out, the gates shut with a mighty slam and a great wail was heard over the wall. All over the island, the Labyrinth was crumbling and fading and familiar places were coming back. It would take another two days for everything to return to normal completely, but the worst was over.

Jareth was defeated and everyone returned home, safe. Now time for the obligatory party?

"No, they kept me in an oubliette and Robin fed me peanut butter cups," Karla said, glancing around for the frog. "He was the first person I saw when I came through."

For a moment, Elphaba was really confused. But then with the last part, she understood. "Well, good for him. But you'll need far more than peanut butter and chocolate. I'll fetch some food and bring it to your room. And I'll see if I can't bring some ointment for whatever bruises you may have."

Karla raised a self-conscious hand to the bruise on her temple and shot the parakeet on her shoulder a dirty look. Said parakeet burbled sadly and attempted to hide under her hair. "I got into a fight with some biting fairies," was all she said, however. "But if you would really bring me something to eat? I'd be ever so grateful."

Though that did raise a dilemma. Eat first or shower? She was starved, but she was also filthy and wearing a corset and leather pants. Decisions, decisions.

"I really will," Elphaba said. "I said I would, and I will. I will fetch it and bring it to your room right away. Assuming you did not plan to go somewhere else."

"My room is good," Karla said. "Though I'm debating between eating and showering," she admitted. "I don't want to change into anything else as filthy as I am, but I'm getting awfully tired of these pants."

"I'm not going to bring your food instantly," Elphaba reminded Karla. "It will take a little time. You're probably best off showering while I get it for you."

"Shower sounds amazing," Karla said fervently. "Would it be possible to maybe meet up in like twenty minutes?"

Twenty minutes of hot water pouring might start making her feel clean again.

"Twenty minutes," Elphaba said. "I'll sit you down and feed you myself if I have to."

She smirked.

"And no biting."

Karla laughed tiredly at that. "I'm so tired, it's possible that I'll let you," she agreed. "With no biting. But let me try first without any help?"

"If you insist," Elphaba said, smiling in earnest. "Now go, get yourself cleaned up. You've been through a lot, it's time to take care of getting you back to the best you can be."

"After this, I am so done," Karla groaned, heading into the dorms. "No more adventures, excitement, or anything more interesting than finals. Not until the New Year at least."

"I won't hold you to that," Elphaba said over her shoulder as she hurried off to get food for Karla.
