First Floor Rec Room, Tuesday Morning

This was one of those mornings were Kate just woke up way too early and couldn't go back to sleep with the way thoughts were just whirring around in her head. After trying anyway, she'd given up and headed down to the salle for a half-mandatory pre-class practice session, intended to center her again, and maybe reduce her stress levels about whichever way certain people she wasn't even supposed to pay attention to were probably going to be interacting in class.

Even a good while spent attacking dummies hadn't killed all the time she had left before her class that was still hours away, though, and she found herself having a need to just take it easy now. With some video games. And the rec room was the perfect place for that since she'd never gotten around to hauling her XBox to Fandom even though it was just gathering dust back home. Not like Marshall ever played anything without her.

She parked her ass on a couch, controller in hand, and made herself comfortable. Meta for Little Big Planet was totally good practice for her reflexes too, right?

[ooc: Open like a rec room! ETA: There is a good chance of SP until my evening. Today is weeeird for me.]

Nathan didn't have any classes today which made being awake a major fucking downer. Laying around in bed held some merit but he got a little bored after awhile so he'd gone wandering.

Still yawning, he padded into the rec room when he spotted someone familiar. He didn't say anything because he was too busy flopping down beside her and stretching his legs out.

"Whatcha playing?" he finally asked, glancing over at here. "There any hookers you can beat up?"

Hey, those games were fun.

"Why are you playing this -- " Nathan asked, pointing to the screen and said little felt guy " -- when you could be beating up hookers and stealing cars? Honestly, Kate, when did you turn into some goody two shoes?"

"Lame," Nathan decided but made no move to try and make her change games. He'd just rolled out of bed a short time ago and had no desire to move right now. "What's the point of this game? To see how long it takes me to start wishing for a stroke?"

[identity profile] tripledmyself.livejournal.com 2011-02-01 02:34 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh my fuck, I'm already wishing for a stroke," he declared, slouching further down on the couch and shaking a little convulsively. "Are you actually enjoying this? Is this fun for you now? Has your want of a normal life made you...dull?"

[identity profile] tripledmyself.livejournal.com 2011-02-01 03:56 pm (UTC)(link)
"Since when?" Nathan asked, slanting a seriously confused glance at her for that statement. "Maybe you're allowed to be dull in private but bringing your overwhelming dullness into a public arena is a shit move, Kate. Shit move."

Elphaba was actually looking to fiddle with the piano in the rec room when she was pleasantly surprised to see Kate.

She was, however, very puzzled as to what she was doing.

"What are you doing?" she asked, making the previously line of narrative quite redundant.

[identity profile] didntchewgrass.livejournal.com 2011-02-01 03:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"We don't even have videos," Elphaba pointed out gently, moving over to sit nearby. "I take it you're... actually, I have no idea what you're doing. You're controlling the game with the TV?"

[identity profile] didntchewgrass.livejournal.com 2011-02-01 06:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Elphaba tilted her head a bit. "It's almost like a puppet," she said. "Like the controller is the strings to a marionette on the television."

[identity profile] didntchewgrass.livejournal.com 2011-02-01 09:04 pm (UTC)(link)
"I can try," Elphaba said, slightly skeptical. "Is there a goal in this game? I probably should at least watch you play, for a bit. To understand it a bit more."

Proto had only recently (re)discovered video games. And he'd found he really, really liked them.

Which explained why he swung by the rec room during prime sleeping-in hours. And found that someone had already beat him there.

"Hey," Proto knew Kate's name... began with a 'K'... "yourself."

[identity profile] make-the-shot.livejournal.com 2011-02-01 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
He grinned back. "Proto."

"What'cha playin'?" There didn't seem to be any awesome explosions going on...

Proto snorted in amusement. "I never said it was."
