Right, so Juliet needed to work on the gossip column for the paper.

This would totally not be hard.

She started trying to write in her room, but it was all weird and quiet in there so she relocated to the common room. She had her little notebook out, but she also had a nice stack of tabloids and E! playing a special on Hollywood scandals ont he TV for inspiration.

She was incredibly sympathetic to poor Lindsay Lohan.

Alex had headed back to her room right after class, intent on taking a nap. Instead, she found herself wandering on down to the common room for a snack.

"Got anything good there?"

"I feel so bad for poor Denise Richards," Juliet said, in the intent tone of one discussing a family friend. "And her babies."

"What's going on with Denise Richards?" Yeah, Alex was a bit out of the loop when it came to celebrity scandals and gossip.

"Nothing with her, but Charlie's having so many problems with drugs and -- loose women," Juliet said. "And she has to explain it to their little girls. It must be awful."

"Oh, ouch," Alex frowned, wondering how people managed to deal with stuff like that on a regular basis. "I hope the little girls come out of it okay."

"Me too, poor babies," Juliet said, looking genuinely sad.

Then, all business: "So have you heard any good school gossip? I'm supposed to write a column for the paper."

"Any good gossip? Not that I can think of but I'm sure there'll be some good stuff before the weekend's over," Alex admitted. "And what with Valentine's Day right around the corner."
