After meeting Leander earlier in the day, Percy wasn't about to stick around his room and wait for more kids to find him. He'd herded Leander (and dragged Jason along with them since he was the other dad) down to the pool since any kid of his probably liked the water.

Once down there, he'd taken the time to call Luke and both invited him and told him to find Nico since it wasn't like Percy could snap a note up to Ethan's mother. Sure, neither Luke or Nico were big fans of the water but wasn't a pool supposed to be a good way to entertain kids so their parents could spend time beating their heads into the walls or something?"

Percy wasn't sure but being around the water relaxed him enough that he either thought he could deal with the horde of demigod kids or he could make Jason or Nico or Luke deal with it because he had the water as backup. One or the other.

Nico glanced down at the angry-looking damp child and blinked. "Because I'm not a girl. Who told you that?" Because they were going to die.

Alex turned and pointed at Percy. "That guy. He said you were a girl that everyone called mommy and that you were shy about being a girl because you were so ugly."

Now he turned back to Nico, still looking insulted. "Why didn't you tell me? I would have still liked you even if you are an ugly girl."

"I didn't tell you because I'm not a girl," Nico repeated. He was going to kill Percy, bring him back to life, and then kill him again. "And look at me, do you think I'm ugly?" Why was he asking a child that question?

"I don't think you're an ugly boy," Alex said, getting slightly less bitchfacey now that apparently it was the other guy that was a liar. "But you would be an ugly girl."

"Yeah, and I'm okay with that part," Nico decided, glaring over at one of the two guys in the room who would likely make pretty girls. "So kid, you wanna learn how to throw a punch and not break your fist?"

"Yes!" Like he was gonna say anything else. "Yes, yes, yes!"

Fighting was awesome. Too bad his parents wouldn't let him do it.

"Great! Percy really likes getting hit," Nico assured him, crouching down to show Alex how this would work. "First, you gotta hold your hand like this, never let your thumb get trapped in your fist. Now, it helps to wear like, sharp rings or finger armor if you want to scar someone and not just knock them around, but since Percy'd cry, we'll skip that part today."

Alex nodded, taking everything in as best he could. "Sounds like Percy's the girl."

"You know, saying only girls cry is the fast track to getting hit by girls till you cry," Nico warned. "They can be pretty vicious."

"Oh I know! Mommy can kick any boy's butt," Alex shared. "I was talking about, like, girly girls from the Capitol."

"Oh, now that's different!" That was like setting the Aphrodite girls on the Hunters and seeing what happened. Always good for a few laughs from Nico's viewpoint. "So now, we'll both get in a shot at Percy, okay? I'll see if I can knock him down and then you aim right for his nose."

Now Alex knew what both his father and mother would have to say about this plan. But...Nico was also an adult and adults were never wrong, right? Just like how Haymitch was never wrong no matter how wasted he was.

"Let's do it!" Whatever, he'll take the punishment. Getting to punch somebody was too good of an opportunity to pass up.
