After meeting Leander earlier in the day, Percy wasn't about to stick around his room and wait for more kids to find him. He'd herded Leander (and dragged Jason along with them since he was the other dad) down to the pool since any kid of his probably liked the water.

Once down there, he'd taken the time to call Luke and both invited him and told him to find Nico since it wasn't like Percy could snap a note up to Ethan's mother. Sure, neither Luke or Nico were big fans of the water but wasn't a pool supposed to be a good way to entertain kids so their parents could spend time beating their heads into the walls or something?"

Percy wasn't sure but being around the water relaxed him enough that he either thought he could deal with the horde of demigod kids or he could make Jason or Nico or Luke deal with it because he had the water as backup. One or the other.

Luke smirked. "You are the worst liar I have ever met, I swear."

"I'm not lying," Percy said, frowning over at Luke. "That's what happened!"

"You're trying to tell me that Nico punched you and convinced Alex to punch you all in the name of being a jerk?" Luke asked. "For no other reason at all?"

"You don't think he'd do that?" Percy asked, rubbing his nose. "He's kind of a jerk himself."

"He's not that much of a jerk," Luke said. "You don't have to tell me, but I know you did something. He may have overreacted, but you did something to provoke him."

"Maaaaaybe I told one of the kids that Nico was a girl because he's a mommy," Percy said nonchalantly, scrunching up his nose now that it didn't hurt anymore. He'd been joking! No reason to get punched in the damn nose. "No reason to punch me in the face and have the kid do it too!"

"Yeah, okay, punching was an overreaction." Luke was still smiling about it though. "If you want retaliation for that, I won't stop you. Just stop lying to the kids."

"Yeah, yeah," he said and splashed some water in Luke's direction. "You honestly would have stopped yourself and explained or would you have gone alone and laughed?"

Luke splashed Percy back even though he knew it wouldn't do much. "You know I would have laughed."

"So, stop lecturing me about this, jerk," he said, stopping that splash before it hit him so he could send it back right up into Luke's face.

Luke probably should have expected that. Should have, but didn't. He spit out some water and gave Percy a glare but there wasn't really any heat behind it. "You're cheating."

"No, I'm taking advantage of my surroundings," he said and sent a wave crashing down on Luke's head.

At least Luke had kind of seen that one coming. He had time to hold his breath but he couldn't say he enjoyed having a wave come down on his head.

He sputtered a bit after the wave had gone and slicked back his now wet hair with one hand. "Okay, that's enough pool time for me."

"Wait, wait," I'm sorry," Percy said, reaching out to grab his wrist. "I won't do it again. I got punched in the nose and I don't think I'm thinking that clearly. Stay here. Stay. I'm done."

Luke didn't look like he actually believed Percy since he doubted his ability to not be a jackass in the water, but he let him grab his wrist and didn't make a move to get out of the water. "I'm not much fun in the water, I don't know why you want me to stay."

"Um, because I kind of really like you," Percy said, shrugging. "I don't really need anymore reason. I want you around because I want you around. The end."

Luke couldn't help but smile at that because he was a sucker for things like that. He did slip his wrist out of Percy's grip though since he didn't want Leander or Alex seeing and asking questions. "You're a huge sap."

"Yeah, I think you're rubbing off on me," Percy said, rolling his eyes and leaning against the edge of the pool near Luke. "I think I have to hate you for that."

"Why?" he asked. "I like it when you're sappy."

"Yeah, but I wouldn't wanna steal your schtick," Percy said, reaching up and patting Luke's shoulder. "Then what would you be famous for?"

"Being the most attractive and charming out of all of us?" Luke suggested.

"You don't think any of the kids would argue with you on that one?" Percy wondered. "They seem pretty strong willed and confident about most things."

"Jason and Nico's girl said I was cute," Luke said with a shrug. "And Leander likes me, and I'm the father of the rest. I think I've got a good chance of holding that title."

"What if I object?" Percy asked him. "Gonna argue with me?"

"Maybe," he said, smirking. "Why would you object? You don't think I'm charming and attractive?"
