Third Floor Common Room [Friday, Evening]
With his roommate finally back, Chuck figured tonight was maybe a good night to give her some space if she wanted it and take his little movie marathon to the common room. Friday night as a teenage boy, he was probably supposed to go out and do something but... that wasn't really him.
After he'd slouched back in the comfort of the couch with a bowl of microwave popcorn and set Hurry Time going on the TV, he had to wonder if maybe he should make this a more regular thing. Not a bad way to spend an evening.
He was in no way mimicking some of the kung fu moves while seated with his popcorn every once in a while... Nor did he almost knock his bowl over while doing it.
[[Open common room, as always.]]

"Oh!" he said, surprised, taking a step back. "Er. Hello."
no subject
"Uh hey, hi... sorry. I was just--" Just what? "Nothing. Jackie Chan, you know?" That was sort of an explanation, right?
no subject
"Naturally," he said diplomatically, making his way over to the fridge to see what food was lying around. "Those movies do have that effect on people."
See? Nice.
no subject
Or you could. But it made you sound crazy (-er).
"And like me and kind of wish you actually had a chance in hell of ever being able to do that stuff."
no subject
"Oh, I'd love to," he said, hurriedly dumping the remaining quarter of a bag of cookies into a coffee mug. "Which one is this?" he asked as he made his way over to the couch.
no subject
metaRush Hour. The uh, first one," Chuck answered, digging a handful of popcorn from her bowl. "I have plans that include all three at some point tonight.""What's the point in watching on movie when you can have a whole marathon?"

[[omg, i'm ridiculous. i just got completely disoriented from yonder pronoun situation ^ and questioned if i'd read this entire thread wrong. aaaagh.]]
no subject
"Completely unburnt, I swear," he added quickly, just in case there might've been doubt there.
no subject
[[hee, no, no problem. I JUST CAN'T READ. and i was like "wait, chuck could be a girl... but the icons...?!"]]

"And why shouldn't it be? Okay, it doesn't always taste quite as good, but-- You've gotta be impressed when a few little kernels can be this in under a minute."
no subject
Maybe they'd stick with Chuck's micro-chef-ery.
no subject
"I mean, obviously." ... Obviously.
no subject
"Well, I suppose that's true," Wesley conceded. He was just a little too British to prefer cookies over, say, scones. Or biscuits. Or tea. Ooh, did they have any tea?
"So, ah..."
no subject
"Three-fifteen." Maybe the guy was one of his floormates! And if so, fail on Chuck for... being a nerdy recluse and not leaving his room long enough to actually meet all the people who lived no more than a few doors away already. Faaaail on him.
no subject
Yeah. Two rooms down from each other. That was... super awkward. But at least they could both blame it on being nerdy recluses!
no subject
"Sort of neighbors! That's cool, I mean I've probably seen you around but-- not been so great at the introductions, which is pretty much normal for me, so... My bad."
"You seen these before?" he asked, jerking a thumb towards the TV?"
no subject
"Televisions?" Wesley asked, possibly a bit idiotically. "Yes, er, I'm quite familiar with them." Then he realized that that probably wasn't the question. "I mean, ah, you mean kung fu movies. Yes. I've seen them before."
Well hey, Chuck, if you weren't good at introductions, at least Wes wasn't good at, um, any kind of socialization!

"They're kind of addictive," Chuck continued, kindly ignoring any confusion. "I mean, I would not want my life to be one or anything... Unless I was suddenly magically awesome and couldn't die, because that side of it would freak me out--"
"Real life violence, not so much my thing," he shared. "But awesome on screens and way, way out of my... way."
Yeah, Chuck wasn't exactly a master conversationalist most of the time either. Just a babbler.

"They actually had that as a set thing at your old school?"
