Third Floor Common Room [Friday, Evening]

With his roommate finally back, Chuck figured tonight was maybe a good night to give her some space if she wanted it and take his little movie marathon to the common room. Friday night as a teenage boy, he was probably supposed to go out and do something but... that wasn't really him.

After he'd slouched back in the comfort of the couch with a bowl of microwave popcorn and set Hurry Time going on the TV, he had to wonder if maybe he should make this a more regular thing. Not a bad way to spend an evening.

He was in no way mimicking some of the kung fu moves while seated with his popcorn every once in a while... Nor did he almost knock his bowl over while doing it.

[[Open common room, as always.]]

"No point at all, is what I say," Wesley said with certainty. "Cookie?" he offered, holding out the mug.

[[omg, i'm ridiculous. i just got completely disoriented from yonder pronoun situation ^ and questioned if i'd read this entire thread wrong. aaaagh.]]

"Certainly," Wes replied, and made the trade. "Mm. Quite good popcorn. Definitely not burnt."

[[hee, no, no problem. I JUST CAN'T READ. and i was like "wait, chuck could be a girl... but the icons...?!"]]

"It is quite impressive," Wesley agreed, smiling. "And these cookies -- just imagine, all I had to do was remove them from the refridgerator, and already they're --" he took a bite of one, then concluded, "--tolerable."

Maybe they'd stick with Chuck's micro-chef-ery.

Obviously!

"Well, I suppose that's true," Wesley conceded. He was just a little too British to prefer cookies over, say, scones. Or biscuits. Or tea. Ooh, did they have any tea?

"So, ah..."

"Wesley," Wes replied, holding a hand out to shake. "Three-eleven."

Yeah. Two rooms down from each other. That was... super awkward. But at least they could both blame it on being nerdy recluses!

Yup, the handshaking was a British thing too. Kind of came with the affinity for tea and the hyphenated last names.

"Televisions?" Wesley asked, possibly a bit idiotically. "Yes, er, I'm quite familiar with them." Then he realized that that probably wasn't the question. "I mean, ah, you mean kung fu movies. Yes. I've seen them before."

Well hey, Chuck, if you weren't good at introductions, at least Wes wasn't good at, um, any kind of socialization!

"I know a bit of kung fu," Wesley said helpfully. "That is to say, I had to study quite a few martial arts at my old school, and kung fu was one of them. I wouldn't say I'm, er, the level of these people here," he said, gesturing to the movie -- which was true, by the way, because his kung fu was pretty bad (http://www.leavemethewhite.com/tv/displayimage.php?album=23&pos=131). "But I've a bit of practice. It's not so bad."
