Earlier today, Nathan had shoved all of his things into bags and piled them up near his bed. He'd left just a few things out for tomorrow (clothes, cigarettes, small bottle of alcohol, and wallet) but other than that, he was ready to go.

But, he wasn't leaving right yet. He still had a whole day to do nothing but kick his feet up in the common room and relax. He'd dug out a bag of chips that clearly wasn't his (or was it?) and was flipping quickly through various channels in the hopes of finding something halfway decent to watch. He didn't want to be preached to or bitched at or lectured. He just wanted something mindless but Sunday mornings were proving harder for that than he'd originally thought.

Eventually, he settled on some news program. The broadcaster was some older, distinguished lady wearing a see through top and Nathan was counting the number of times her chest pressed hard enough against that top and made it able for him (and everyone) to see things. He was up to four so far. Who knew news was so entertaining?

[It's an open CR and this might be the last time Nathan's out and about before he leaves. He's probably going to sneak out and not tell anyone and then go die. Oops. Anyway, yes, wide open.]

"They're like as big as saucers," Nathan said and made a giant circle around his own nipple. "I'm waiting for one of them to just come alive and burst through her blouse so it can run off and have adventures of its own!"

"Sadly, I doubt this broadcast was made here," Kate mused, not bothering to question that this was what he was getting from the news. News were boring and depressing, anyway. "So it's unlikely that that's gonna happen."

"But, it's not impossible," Nathan said, holding up a finger. "And if that doesn't happen, what are the chances of her blouse just bursting open and giving the audience a nice little peek, eh?"

"Slim to none." Kate was being a realist, here. "She's a professional."

"I can see her nipple," Nathan said, pointing out said nipple with a chip. "How is that professional? She's gonna go off the air and people are gonna start calling her Nancy Nipplewitz!"

"Not unless she, in fact, works with you," Kate retorted. "Maybe her coworkers are professionals too?"

"If she works with blokes, I can guarantee you right now, they're thinking of taking their chaps out and having a go to the image she's presenting right here," Nathan said, waggling his finger at her. "Guarantee it."

"Ew." She shook her head and took a sip of her drink. "Anyway, what if some of them are gay?"

"Well, maybe they're picturing the bloke who does sports when they get it out," Nathan said easily. "Nipples here won't interest them, will she? Too bad because I am quite taken with these giant saucer nipples I'm seeing."

"I am so going to miss your random objectification of people on the TV," Kate replied, sighing mock wistfully. "How ever will I fill my time now?"

"Don't you have a boyfriend?" Nathan asked, glancing over at her. "You could just sick on his dick and twist. I bet that'd be fun, yeah?"

She raised an eyebrow at him. "What, not gonna claim you're irreplaceable? That you leave a void that can't be filled?"

"Well, clearly you can't replace me but I bet you can make due, yeah?" Nathan suggested, smirking. "I mean, obviously you're going to me miss and you're going to cry and it's going to take a bloody long time to get over me but I am confident that you will, Katie."

"Please, I'm not going to cry." Oh, give it a week, Kate. "I'll be... slightly displeased." She nodded, having decided on a word. "Yeah. That."

"Displeased?" Nathan asked, raising an eyebrow. "Why? It's not like we had a nasty falling out and I'm flouncing off to get away from you or anything like that. You should be sad not displeased."

"Sad is too extreme," she shrugged. "I don't want to be sad."

"So what, you won't miss me?" Nathan asked, clutching his heart. "Now, I'm gonna be fucking sad."

"Not missing someone and not being sad are not the same thing, Nathaniel," Kate pointed out, looking mildly amused. "Though I'm sure you're crushed anyway."

"Are you telling me you won't be sad when I'm gone?" Nathan asked skeptically. "Because, if that's what you're saying, I won't fucking believe you. You will be sad and you will miss me."

"Why are you so convinced I'll be sad?"

That was not avoiding the question, by the way. Because she said so.

"I am convinced you'll be sad because I know you and you love me and my adorable ways and having them suddenly ripped away from you is going to be a sad, sad thing," Nathan lectured.

Kate reached over lazily to flick him on the nose. "Bullshit."

"So, you're not going to spend a day moping around only to dedicate a movie to me when you go to work?" Nathan asked. "Because, if you did that, I'd feel really missed."

"Are you psychic now?" Kate snorted. "Would you know it all the way from England what it says on the marquee at my work here? 'Sides, I don't even know when you're leaving."

"Tomorrow," he said and didn't look at her as he said that. "So, um, pretty fucking soon, then!"
