Second Floor Common Room [Evening]

Ramona had flung herself onto a couch in the common room, in the interest of actually being social. Now, granted, while she had the television tuned to reruns of Rescued by the Alarm -- because who didn't love reliving the early nineties? Such large phones! -- she did have her nose buried in a book as she kept half an ear on the TV.

Look, the last Barry Plodder movie was coming out in a matter of like, a week, and while she wasn't a super-fan or anything, she had to try and remember exactly what happened when those kids weren't just walking around in the woods all the time. That was all they seemed to do for like, half that book. So she was refreshing herself on the events that took place in the latter half of the book, because she didn't want to be caught off-guard again like she had when she saw the last movie and that cute goblin thing had bit it.

[totally open, omg. I am totally watching SBtB right now, too.]

Freddie wandered into the common room and happily plopped down onto a couch.

"Have I mentioned lately that I love this school? Because I love this school. And... what on earth are they showing on the TV?"

He was, in fact, of a generation after such a show.

"Because I have a class taught by a pink pony who gives us cupcakes on the first day," Freddie said. "And I get to say that sentence, and I've not actually gone crazy!" He grinned. "That's great, isn't it?"

[identity profile] randomspanish.livejournal.com 2011-07-07 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
"And seriously excitable," Freddie said, still amused by it all. "It's like... constant sugar high. I'd fear for the day she wakes up on the wrong side of the bed, but... do ponies even sleep in beds?"

It was a perfectly cromulent question.

[identity profile] randomspanish.livejournal.com 2011-07-07 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
"You know, I didn't even think to ask," Freddie admitted. "I guess I'll have to ask next week. After I'm taught how to throw another type of party. By a pony."

He just kept smiling like a dork. "This place is so cool."

"Well, I guess I just like silly things," Freddie said. "I definitely wouldn't enjoy an acid trip, though. I mean, they've always sounded pretty unfun. I can only imagine the cow my mom would have if I even thought about trying something like that."

"I think she just has an overdeveloped motherly instinct," Freddie said. "She's definitely not psychic. That would drive anyone crazy, I think. Especially if their mom is as overbearing as mine can be."

"Oh, that I know," Freddie said, smiling a bit himself. "I love her too, just... sometimes, you just don't want to take a tick bath, you know? Or wear non-antibacterial underpants."

"I have no idea," Miley deadpanned, leaning over the arm of her couch to talk to him. "But it seems kinda lame. Like, hello, the nineties show has already been done."

[identity profile] randomspanish.livejournal.com 2011-07-07 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm not even sure what's so cool about the nineties," Freddie said. "I mean, I wasn't even alive for some of it. How can it be that cool?"

He was joking, of course.

[identity profile] its-theclimb.livejournal.com 2011-07-07 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
"I know, right?" Miley exclaimed. She was joking too. Maybe a little less than he was. "They totally missed out on an awesome generation of people. Give me Warlocks of Union Square and Rumor Gal any day. Psh."

"I don't know the first one," Freddie said. "But I never cared much for Rumor Gal. Kind of... I don't know, too dramatic for me? But I suppose it's better than Totally Terri. Anything is better than Totally Terri, though."

He was not a fan of the Dingo channel, oh no.

[identity profile] its-theclimb.livejournal.com 2011-07-07 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
"Never heard of it," Miley said. "Why, what's so bad about it?"

If anything, she could watch it and laugh at it, right?

[identity profile] randomspanish.livejournal.com 2011-07-07 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, just the Dingo Channel writers are jerks and plagiarists. Though we did teach them a pretty good lesson. We did something to them even Gibby wouldn't do," Freddie said. "Thoooough I am realizing that that sentence makes no sense unless you know about our webshow."

[identity profile] its-theclimb.livejournal.com 2011-07-07 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
Nope, no sense at all. Nor was she familiar with the Dingo Channel. Though if she was, she might find one of its productions eerily similar to her own life.

"Oh, you do a webshow? That's awesome! What's it called?"

[identity profile] randomspanish.livejournal.com 2011-07-07 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
"iCarly," Freddie said, all proud to talk about it. "I'm just the technical producer, meaning I do all the behind the scenes stuff. It's my two friends, Carly and Sam, just goofing around and doing cool and fun stuff while sharing things they find on the internet. It's pretty popular, at least where we're from."

[identity profile] its-theclimb.livejournal.com 2011-07-07 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
"That's so cool," Miley gushed, leaning forward. "Do you film it here? Are you making episodes now? What kind of stuff do you do?"

The only experience she had with web shows was receiving several dozen requests from London Tipton to write the theme song to her show, Yay Me.

[identity profile] randomspanish.livejournal.com 2011-07-07 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
"We do, every week," Freddie said. "Sam goes to school here to, and Carly films her parts simultaneously out in Seattle. It takes a bit of work, but we're keeping up our viewership. "And honestly, it's probably better for me to show you than to explain it. It's way better seen than explained."

[identity profile] its-theclimb.livejournal.com 2011-07-07 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
"Do you have video clips?" Miley asked, leaning forward. "Or, ooh, can I watch you guys film? I'm totally experienced with being on film sets." She paused. "I mean, watching."

Because she'd totally never been in a movie. Definitely not.

"You can go right to iCarly dot com," Freddie said. "We have old shows available, highlights, everything. And you're more than welcome to come watch. Just be careful, or else Sam might drag you on to play 'What am I licking' or something."
