Rock Band Party, Tuesday Evening, First Floor Rec Room

Karla and Warren had celebrated their return to their proper forms in the way that many teenagers would find appropriate: they'd headed back to the modern mainland, found a toy store, and bought a gaming system (or three). Along with the games they bought to go along with said system, they also picked up a few guitars, a keyboard, a drum set, and two microphones.

Once back in the rec room, the rest of the afternoon had been spent setting up the systems and buying every single song available for the game. Waiting for them to finish downloading actually took longer than the initial setting up, even taking in Karla's attempts to 'help'.

But now the system was set up, the songs were ready, and the instruments prepared.

[Open for anyone who wants to play. [livejournal.com profile] not_a_parakeet modded to an ungodly degree with permission! Just a warning about SP and Karla's threads--I will be AFK all day, but if you're willing to wait until Thursday that's fine by me.]

"Learn to play via a video game?" asked Alexander with curiosity, but he laughed; a bit of frivolity would be quite welcome with the presence of the cat statue, though he wondered if he should set it aside. "I think I might like to give it a try, yes. I should think I'd be a bit of a spoilsport if I didn't."

Curse blonde and their sad faces, with their strange magical power to make him do things! They had to have special meetings where they rehearsed, or something.

So it was a good thing he already planned on participating. He had been in Glee Club. This would be nothing.

"Perish the thought!" Alexander insisted. "I will sing, do not worry. Assuming, of course, that you will be doing the same, Karla."

"We shall have to be content to share that handicap, then," Alexander admitted, "though I suppose Glee Club had given me at least a little more knowledge."

Which meant his exposure to music had gone hand-in-hand with Ariel's tastes.

But he had the microphone and then looked at the screen with a bit of confusion. "I trust you know how to actually maneuver the game to choose a song?"

Computer class had done nothing for Alexander. NOTHING.

"There (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfUYuIVbFg0)," Alexander said, grinning as he saw a song crop up that might be good for both of them to sing since they both had microphone.

And one thing you learned out of being in Glee Club was every Journey song known to man. It was in the rules.

"Gentleman's choice on the song," Alexander offered, "so lady's choice on that."

This song was absolutely made for these sorts of things. Even if Alexander wanted to be guarded about his singing, once he started, there was no holding back.

"Just a city boy...born and raised in South De-troi-oit; he took the midnight train going aaaaannnnyyyyywheeeeeeere."
