Rock Band Party, Tuesday Evening, First Floor Rec Room

Karla and Warren had celebrated their return to their proper forms in the way that many teenagers would find appropriate: they'd headed back to the modern mainland, found a toy store, and bought a gaming system (or three). Along with the games they bought to go along with said system, they also picked up a few guitars, a keyboard, a drum set, and two microphones.

Once back in the rec room, the rest of the afternoon had been spent setting up the systems and buying every single song available for the game. Waiting for them to finish downloading actually took longer than the initial setting up, even taking in Karla's attempts to 'help'.

But now the system was set up, the songs were ready, and the instruments prepared.

[Open for anyone who wants to play. [livejournal.com profile] not_a_parakeet modded to an ungodly degree with permission! Just a warning about SP and Karla's threads--I will be AFK all day, but if you're willing to wait until Thursday that's fine by me.]

Alexander shook his head. "Thankfully not," he admitted. "I have a feeling that being sequestered in my room trying to look into..." His eyes drifted to the cat statue under his arm, "certain things kept me out of the way of that strange event. I assume you were not so lucky, then?"

Quinn looked at the cat statue. "You spent all weekend shopping for antiques?"

Wow, way to make it sound gay, Quinn.

"And yeah, I was a pretty pink pony with a Q on my hip," she admitted. "Fun at first, but the novelty wore off fast."

"....er, no," said Alexander, very simply, and then just decided that it would have been far too complicated to explain. He set the cat aside for the duration of the party, but in a place where he could absolutely keep an eye on the hideous thing.

He'd much rather talk about ponies.

"I can only imagine," he said. "How did you manage?"

"Complained a lot, kicked things, looked sad until people made me salads," Quinn listed off, twisting her hair behind her head. "They should have canceled our classes on account of pony."

It was good to know that Sad Blonde Girl Looks worked even when said blonde girl was a pony. That felt like it could be useful information.

"If they cancelled classes due to random strange occurrences," Alexander reasoned, "then I fear we'd never go to class at all."

"... Is this supposed to be a problem?"

She was kidding. Sort of.

"I happen to greatly enjoy some of my classes!" Alexander admitted with a laugh. "Though I suppose missing some others wouldn't be so bad. I can see how some might be made a little more difficult to participate in when one is suffering from a short bout of equine."

"We were supposed to make fires in my class," Quinn explained. "Because horses are huge into s'mores."

Or because the lesson was about teamwork and averse circumstances, but Quinn had missed the point.

"What classes did you take this time, anyhow?"

[identity profile] daventryprince.livejournal.com 2011-07-13 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
"I can certainly see how that might be a difficult task," Alexander grinned, "unless you were some sort of fire horse or nightmare. But as it happens, I'm taking the class on everything being a weapon this time around, as well as Talking is a Free Action, though I'm still not entirely sure what that one is all about; you're in that one too, correct? It seems par for the course with Deadpool, really. There's the usual plethora of extra language courses my mother insists upon, and the class on Heroism, which I suspect should be quite useful."

He hoped, anyway.

"What else have you got on your agenda?"

[identity profile] chief-cheerio.livejournal.com 2011-07-13 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
"Talking is a very Deadpool kind of class," Quinn agreed. "My others are avoiding Misadventure -- that was the fire one -- teambuilding, and one called tricks, cons and bamboozles." She shrugged a bit. "Figured it might help me not be a sucker."

[identity profile] daventryprince.livejournal.com 2011-07-13 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
Alexander had to give a small smile at that. "I don't think I'd have pegged you for a sucker, Quinn," he offered. "Though I admit that's not a class I would have expected to see you in."

[identity profile] chief-cheerio.livejournal.com 2011-07-13 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
"It was a weird list this time," Quinn shrugged. "It's senior year. It's summer. Time to take fun stuff that might help me someday."

A beat. "And thank you for not thinking I'm a sucker."

[identity profile] daventryprince.livejournal.com 2011-07-13 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
"You're quite welcome," Alexander laughed a little. "And what? You don't think my fourth semester of Russian will help me out much?"

[identity profile] chief-cheerio.livejournal.com 2011-07-13 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
"Depends on if you're planning on spending a bunch of time in Moscow," Quinn said. "But then, I'm taking a Deadpool class."

Her judgment might be skewed.

[identity profile] daventryprince.livejournal.com 2011-07-13 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
That definitely got a laugh, as well as compounded Quinn's point. "Fair enough," he said, "but so am I, so there you have it. I did actually get a chance to use it with someone other than Scully the other day, so who knows? Mother might actually be right."
