Rock Band Party, Tuesday Evening, First Floor Rec Room

Karla and Warren had celebrated their return to their proper forms in the way that many teenagers would find appropriate: they'd headed back to the modern mainland, found a toy store, and bought a gaming system (or three). Along with the games they bought to go along with said system, they also picked up a few guitars, a keyboard, a drum set, and two microphones.

Once back in the rec room, the rest of the afternoon had been spent setting up the systems and buying every single song available for the game. Waiting for them to finish downloading actually took longer than the initial setting up, even taking in Karla's attempts to 'help'.

But now the system was set up, the songs were ready, and the instruments prepared.

Fandom High? Get ready to rock.

Tony was just going to stare. Stare a lot.

"Maybe next time a little Black Sabbath?" he suggested, starting to follow the instructions on the screen.

SORRY, TONY. IT WAS THIS OR JUSTIN BIEBER. MAYBE THE JONAS BROTHERS ON A GOOD DAY.

"Black Sabbath?" she repeated. "...For real?"

Because, in her world? Even the bad boys liked Hannah Montana. It was a thing.

"Maybe Queens of the Stone Age?" He was a rebel! A billionaire rebel! "Not your thing?"

She laughed good-naturedly even though, you know, so not her thing.

"I don't even know what that is," she admitted, grinning. "Sorry. My music taste is a liiiiittle sheltered."

More accurately, it was restricted to the names of people Disney liked enough to promote to nine-year-olds.

Even if he was also now owned by Disney. Sigh.

"...seriously? Wow, I need to send you good music."

Good meaning something horrifically metal.

He could go right ahead and do that, but it spiral into horrifying, horrifyig circumstances. When Miley experimented (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwyuOlXb98s) with different types of music, the results were usually... bad.

"Go for it! I'm always up for new music!"

GREAT, TONY. NOW THE NINE-YEAR-OLDS OF THE WORLD WOULD HAVE YOU TO THANK.

"It'll expand your horizons," Tony said, nodding seriously.

That song was certainly not going to be popular with the nine-year-olds, Tony. It just was not.

"Uh-huh," Miley said, nodding in an effort to be convincing.

He was really cute, okay? It messed up her ability to say no.

It was an evil power that Tony would never exploit. At least, not for a few more years. "Okay, how about a song somewhere in the middle?"

"Okay!"

THAT WASN'T IN THE MIDDLE OF ANYTHING, MILEY. GOD.

"..." DAMN IT, MILEY. "How about--" He poked through the options, praying to god to get something better than that. "Cage the Elephant (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0tsm0EhCJM&feature=related)?"

...Well, okay. FINE. But only because he was cute!

"Sure!" she chirped, doing her best to sound eager. "And then maybe after, we could try..." Pray as hard as you can, Tony! "...some Taylor Swift?"

"Uh, maybe Warren can sing with that one!" Yes, throw Warren under the bus.

Somewhere, Topher was getting his revenge on Tony for having the last word in their nerd battle.

"Oh, come on, you'll be great!" Miley insisted, misunderstanding his reluctance. "Don't be shy!"

DAMN YOU, TOPHER.

"Oh, no. I'm more of the technical person on these things." Damn you, technology! Mocking hiiiiiim!

"But it doesn't even need any technical anything!" Miley pointed out. She pointed to the little logo on the bottom of the box. "See, this is the latest version! It'll run perfectly. Promise."

Mocking hiiiiim. He'd have his vengeance on this game. Oh, he would.

Tony sighed, praying Karla wasn't filming this. "Fine."

"Yay!" Miley clapped her hands in delight. Because that was something she did. "Okay, so your song first, of course."

YOU'RE WELCOME, TONY. Hopefully the TV's hatred of rich kids didn't extend to Rock Band. If it did, it might just launch into an even better song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DwT_2QQU64)!

"Again?!" Yes, Tony. Again. That song haunted you.

Wait. He had picked this?

"Interesting choice," Miley said, quirking an eyebrow. "Come on, this is totally not that different from my stuff! If you like this, you'll totally like Taylor Swift!"

Was that maniacal cackling coming from room 307? Couldn't be.

"It's not even singing! It's computers!"

Miley giggled. "No, it's not, silly!" she insisted. "That's Jenna Rose! I've met her! That's just how her voice sounds."

Unless she had met a cyborg imposter!

"Hannah Montana's wearing my jeans! Ashley Tisdale's wearing my jeans..."
