Rock Band Party, Tuesday Evening, First Floor Rec Room
Karla and Warren had celebrated their return to their proper forms in the way that many teenagers would find appropriate: they'd headed back to the modern mainland, found a toy store, and bought a gaming system (or three). Along with the games they bought to go along with said system, they also picked up a few guitars, a keyboard, a drum set, and two microphones.
Once back in the rec room, the rest of the afternoon had been spent setting up the systems and buying every single song available for the game. Waiting for them to finish downloading actually took longer than the initial setting up, even taking in Karla's attempts to 'help'.
But now the system was set up, the songs were ready, and the instruments prepared.
Fandom High? Get ready to rock.
[Open for anyone who wants to play.
not_a_parakeet modded to an ungodly degree with permission! Just a warning about SP and Karla's threads--I will be AFK all day, but if you're willing to wait until Thursday that's fine by me.]

Without even looking at the screen (because why would she have to? These were her own lyrics, duh), she launched into the song. Perfectly, of course.

Sorry, Miley.
But, what little she could hear, she was willing to say that Miley had a lovely voice. Though the song wasn't exactly her genre of choice. Not that she actually had a genre of choice.
And hopefully Miley wouldn't be too upset when Karla interspersed the song with random curses. Fake piano was hard.

Although? It felt really good to sing after more than a week without practice. She was going to have to see if there were practice rooms at this school or something, because this was the first time in years she'd gone so long without rehearsing.
"See, you're getting it!" she encouraged Karla at an instrumental break. And ignoring the curses, because Disney girls didn't hear such things. "Fun, right?"

"It is!" she said, keeping her eyes trained on the screen. "Or rather, it would be if this orange section wasn't so [words excised for Disney viewers]! But when it's just the green through the blue, I think I'm starting to get it!"

"You're doing, like, a way better job than some people I know," she made sure to praise Karla. Because it was good to make other people feel validated. Yes. "And the song's super catchy, so that probably helps."
...What? She could pat her own back from time to time.

Damn you, Hannah Montana. Damn you.
"You were really awesome, too," Karla said, eying Miley's 100% flawless score. "Know the song by heart, huh?"
no subject
"Yeah, pretty much," Miley laughed, shrugging one shoulder. "Like I said, I'm a really big fan. I'm not as good as she is, 'course, but I try."
Big, big smile.

"Oh, I wouldn't say that," Karla said idly. "There were some parts when I couldn't tell which was you singing and the recording."
Beat.
"But then, I was concentrating really hard on the piano stuff," she confessed. "So I can't really say I was paying a lot of attention."

The plan to sing karaoke to her own songs, in front of a big crowd of people, was maaaaybe not so bright. But it was singing! In front of a crowd! That was her favorite thing! There was no reason to be practical when there was music to be made!
"Riiight," Miley said, giving Karla a little thumbs-up. Because that had been one scary moment just then.
"So, um. Wanna try something else?"

[ALWAYS! Though we are going to Six Flags tomorrow and I will not be around at all. If you're willing to wait until Thursday?]

See, she could be less self-absorbed sometimes.
[Meh, don't worry about it. Have fun at Six Flags!]
