Tea for Quinn + Wesley, Dorm Lawn, Friday Midday

Quinn put her hands on her hips and surveyed the lawn beside the dorm with satisfaction. The tea party for the Fabray/Wyndam-Pryce ticket didn't look bad at all, she thought. They'd cordoned off an area with red, gold and black balloons and stuck campaign signs in the ground, and there was a buffet of herbal tea, scones, fruit, and finger sandwiches for everyone to nibble.

They hadn't known about the debate when they planned this, but really, it was a perfect companion event -- a little lower-key chance to polish their lines and make sure they'd connect with the voters.

Pasting on a smile, she stood near the front of the space and waited for potential voters to wander past.

"You. Are. So. Lucky. That I didn't hear about this in time to put together a hip-hop rap with 'Wes the Man' as the chorus," Kenzi pouted. She glared over at Quinn. "Promise you won't completely suck up to Quinn during the debate thingy tonight. Promise."

Oops too late.

"I will act as befits our partnership," he said primly. In full-on Watcher mode, of course. "And I would hope that you maintain the level of professionalism that is expected from a Fandom student."

...So, none? Really, Wesley.

"You're going to regret this." Kenzi stuck out her tongue. "Only Quinn's gonna regret it more."

No sneaky lying. No wrecking her stuff. But ohhhh, there were a lot of ways to make Wes look good and Quinn look stupid without working on it. And there was that other chick, Annie. "You're so lucky it's too late for me to nominate someone else, too!"

"I'm not certain that it is," Wesley said thoughtfully, tilting his head at that. "The deadline isn't until the end of the week."

What a stupid thing to say.

"Really?" Kenzi's expression was delighted. "Woooo!"

Then Wesley came to his very, very lacking senses. "But -- but I do wish you wouldn't," he offered weakly. "Quinn would really be quite, quite upset."

He had apparently never heard of a persuasive argument, nope.

Now Kenzi couldn't breathe for laughing. "See-ya-bye! I gotta go canvass other seniors!"

... serve you right if she found anyone willing to run and not drop out two minutes after she put up a poster, Wes. Two someones, even.

Totally unlikely.

And Wesley was just left huffing in disappointment.

"I -- I -- "

What just happened?
