Tea for Quinn + Wesley, Dorm Lawn, Friday Midday

Quinn put her hands on her hips and surveyed the lawn beside the dorm with satisfaction. The tea party for the Fabray/Wyndam-Pryce ticket didn't look bad at all, she thought. They'd cordoned off an area with red, gold and black balloons and stuck campaign signs in the ground, and there was a buffet of herbal tea, scones, fruit, and finger sandwiches for everyone to nibble.

They hadn't known about the debate when they planned this, but really, it was a perfect companion event -- a little lower-key chance to polish their lines and make sure they'd connect with the voters.

Pasting on a smile, she stood near the front of the space and waited for potential voters to wander past.

Coming across the very obvious set-up for afternoon tea on the lawn had quirked Rosella's interest and her head quite a bit, tilting it as she looked it over with an amused look on her face.

She did rather love a garden tea party, she had to admit. The level of campaign and advertisement involved was intriguing as well. Much better a tea party of Student Council, she reasoned, then a tea party in an attempt to marry someone off.

This certainly got a big fat Royal Kingdom of Daventry seal of approval!

Aaaaand soon there would be a cup of decaffeinated tea appearing in Rosella's line of view. Wesley could be generous like that.

"Hello," he said, offering her a smile. "My name is Wesley Wyndam-Pryce. Can I help you find anything?"

Did he have this mingling thing right? He was really trying here.

"Oh!" Rosella met the offering with a smile of her own, a modicum of pleased surprised, and a nod of her head in greeting. "Why, thank you, Wesley Wyndam-Pryce, and, no, that's quite alright. I trust I should be able to find everything quite well on my own. This tea is expertly organized."

Well. It was co-run by Crazy Organizing Quinn, after all. That was only to be expected.

"Alright, well, you're welcome to find me if you need anything," he offered. "Quinn and I are more than willing to answer any questions you might have about the upcoming election."

"Well," said Rosella with the slightest hint of a grin, "if that is the case, I have quite a handful of questions for the candidates. OH, but I'm sure you're quite busy..." She trailed off a little, carefully watching to see how his response would reflect on him.

Jack wasn't a big tea kind of guy. However since all the coffee was gone? He was totally crashing the tea party. Even if he wasn't a senior.

Claudia went for one of the scones, and loaded up a cup of tea with an ungodly amount of sugar.

It wasn't grubbing, it was being attuned to your public. Yes.

Anyhow, Quinn was around and absolutely refusing to be nervous. Even if she did wish they'd been able to track down some decent coffee.

Annie had been coming back from another supply run, and it was a little hard to miss the setup.

"What's this?" she asked, though by the looks of things and that sinking feeling in her stomach, she already knew.

Quinn got a sinking feeling in her stomach, too. (Perhaps it could hang out with the sinking feeling in Annie's.) It wasn't about leaving Annie out, it was more about ... doing something with Wesley and not inviting her.

Totally different.

She managed a smile anyhow. "It's a campaign tea for Wesley and me," she said. "Want a scone?"

A bit of observance and consideration certainly helped Rosella narrow down one of the hosts of the events and, smiling a little, she made her way over.

She had absolutely no interest in running for this Student Council thing, but she had to admit, she was terribly interested in the people who were and their...er...dedication to the cause.

"What a lovely little tea party," she offered conversationally. "My compliments to the hosts."

Wesley was English. He was officially therefore a tea party expert.

"I am," Rosella said proudly. "It would seem like a terrible shame not to. I may be the product of monarchy, but that doesn't mean I don't have a healthy respect for democracy. The only trouble, of course, will be knowing who to vote for."

It was pretty much exactly the same reaction Claudia had had to the cupcake left on her desk last weekend. She wasn't really good at following school politics.

The lack of caffeinated tea was unfortunate. But at least there was food! And Wesley was looking just a tad bit awkward as he hovered around and made himself available for questions.

Also, he was on the lookout for Kenzi. So that he could shoo her away, should she try to crash.
