Soooo, Kenzi had gotten the video she'd asked for from Topher... of various shots of Wes while he was teaching her about guns. And put it to a soundtrack. Then hooked up a DVD player to the TV in the Common Room and concealed it. It was on an infinite loop.

So, at random moments, Kenzi would amuse herself while watching The Spy Amnesia Movie on the Science Fiction channel by hitting the remote button, and having Wes interrupt it with his campaign.

"YES!" You got it Wes! Happy Dance Time! "And Ms. Perrault was running around helping us with our make-up and lighting and sometimes it felt like a really bad play and sometimes it made sense that I was ex-KGB with a really stupid accent!"

He didn't see.

"I suppose I should be grateful that the kidnapped demons enlisted against their will into a black market fighting club made up the bulk of my excitement for the weekend, then."

"Ooooo." Kenzi stared. "I kind of want to go with you. And I kind of never want to visit L.A. ever in this life. And what did you do?"

Wesley, naturally, fell into the trap of bragging about himself when there could very well be a camera lurking. Or at least a pack of squirrels. He was so oblivious sometimes.

"Oh, just some basic negotiations. Some simple tacticial strategy," he said breezily, though there was some pompousness shining through. "It's been taken care of."

Mainly by Angel, but that was beside the point.

Kenzi took the moment to applaud, sincerely. And hide the remote in the couch cushions, sneakily.

"Way to go, Wes." She cocked her head. "You go back there every couple weeks to help out?"

"Thank you," he said instinctively. "And as often as I can, yes," he answered. "It was a bit... put on hold while I was with Katniss, but I intend to resume regular visits."

"Cool, cool." Kenzi was going to make a note to schedule more intense mischief for when Wes was gone.

So as not to worry him! He had enough problems, right? "So yeah. That was my weekend. Not all bad." She grinned. "And I got Annie posters done."

Someone might have brushed against a poster outside in the hall, because I Just Can't Wait to Be King might have drifted into the room.

"Yes," Wesley said, seizing on that particular point to address. "Er."

A beat.

"...Why?"

He'd missed the part where Quinn had made her cry in the bathroom.

Kenzi had heard a bit about that on the Radio. And felt bad, a little. But mostly: "Hey, you teamed up with Quinn. I'm doing my part to even things up." She looked earnest. "Only fair, right?"

"I suppose, certainly," he said, but he was still a bit perplexed. "Although one would generally assume that campaigning for one candidate implies that you want him to, well. Win."

There wasn't really a way for that to come out not self-centered, but he'd tried.

"Weslyyyyy." Kenzi gave him a sincere look. "You're still my favorite. And I wouldn't do it if there weren't three people running for three spots, I swear."

Even if she'd considered nominating more people to mess up Quinn still more, then abandoned that plan when she realized Wes might drop out. "I made you a commercial!"

...possibly not the thing to remind him of.

"Yes, I saw," Wesley said dryly, and don't think the talk about that wasn't coming up sometime soon, Kenzi. "Well. It's, er. Nice to be appreciated?"

He had to laugh, just for a moment, at the ridiculousness of it.

Yay! Wes was laughing! Yay! Secondary Secret Agenda accomplished, whether he got elected or not! Kenzi beamed back and said, "You're welcome! I should get a camera right now. Way more approachable when you're smiling."

This was true, not that he'd ever been told that before. Sadly, it was something he did rarely enough to only have like four icons of it.

"I'm not certain what to say to that," he had to admit, stifling another chuckle. "Thank you?"

"Welcome," Kenzi repeated, and grinned. And someone should have!

...how he ended up thanking her after that entrance was a mystery for the ages.

"Now, then," he said, turning a bit more stern. "About the commercial."

Kenzi considered saying anything. And then decided an innocent look would be more useful.

Wesley sighed. "I don't suppose there's much I could do to encourage you to cease screening it, is there?"

Right. Bad strategy there, Wes.

Kenzi considered. "Not really at all, nope." Even with Bruce's objections, now she would just get Topher to re-work it, re-brand it, and make it more thoughtful and stuff.
