Dorm Lobby | Wednesday During and After Classes

There was excitement in the air. Okay, maybe that was just the mixture of Caroline's perfume and fresh baked cookies or just the scent of fresh permanent marker emanating from the sign adorning her table in the lobby.

Her purpose was the same as the words on the poster that had been glitter-fied at the KDG meeting:

SHOW OFF!
Sign up to perform in the Student Council Parent Weekend Recital!
When: SATURDAY EVENING
Where: The COMMUNITY CENTER

With a great big smile, Caroline was ready to do her Student Council duty and chat up anyone who looked in need of some persuasion to participate. Um, not that she was going to be using her special, vampiric talents to fill the sign up list. That would be bad, even if it would mean a seriously amazing show.

Hmm. Maybe she should just stick with the cookie bribe.

He snorted, his arm tightening around her to draw her against him. "Except that I already got the best choice. They'll just get stupid vampires."

"You are totally sucking up," she teased, sliding closer and wrapping her arms around his neck. "But somehow it works well for you."

He smiled and nuzzled the side of her neck, drawing in the scent of her warm skin. "I love you."

Caroline grinned, her hands sliding up his neck and through his hair to make it all spiky. "See, total suck up."

"It's not sucking up if it's true," he argued and he was grinning against her skin at the feel of her hands in his hair.

She couldn't really argue his point, though she could distract away from it by playing with his hair and hugging him close. "I like this."

Perhaps he should point out she was trying to recruit people, but he honestly didn't care to when he was perfectly comfortable like this. "That's good, it'd complicate dating you if you didn't."

"Oh my God, like I remember what I thought this giant wolf who packed away pizza slices like they were potato chips was going to do after we jumped off a cliff into freezing water like, way far from where we'd ditched our clothes." Okay, so maybe she did, but he didn't need to know that she'd been hoping for much dirtier things to go down between them that night.
