The Roof, mid-morning

Bunnies bunnies bunnies bunnies-- half the bunnies had gone to Pinkie, to decorate her office; Kenzi had kept the bunny chair; and about a fourth were now going to be detailed for a special project.

But the rest were now arranged on the roof in a Bunny Exhibition. A bunny crime scene, with a paint out-line for the deceased, bunny coroners, bunny crime scene techs, a bunny crowd mourning and taking pictures on their bunny iPhones; it was awesome. More paint to explain this was outside the Bunny Club, and seriously, she should charge admission.

She beamed over at Bart. "Do you think we need more crowd, or more bunny police?"

[for the roomie, and expecting one other, but open to tourists!]

Bart looked over the scene. He held his thumb out and closed one of his eyes like painters always do on TV.

"Maybe a little of both?" There was a scarlet blur and he was back, holding an armful of bunnies.

"I think you're right!" Kenzi felt like an art director. It was awesome. "Bunnies crying! And we need a bunny with a cigar, looking like the boss in charge!"

"Yeah! And a bunny detective who's all like, 'I know who the killer is, but I'm not going to tell you for the rest of the episode because I want you to figure it out even though it would be faster for me to just get him now.' And his sidekick goes along with it because he's just the sidekick."

Bart watches too much TV sometimes.

"They should have trenchcoats!" Kenzi decided, looking around for bunnies who were wearing something close enough. "Adorable rain slickers! That works!"

"Yeah! And sunglasses! Because they're cool." He nodded.

Kenzi cackled and switched a few around, then stepped back, so pleased, and shook the paint can again. "Okay, do the railings need anything more? Or do we need another victim, maybe another outline?"

"hmm." Bart looked around. "We could have another dead guy they haven't found yet, in the back alley. OR! We could have the killer sneaking away from the scene of the crime all creepy, trying to hide the blood on his hands."

"Ooooor you could come up with a really good explanation for why you're painting a murder scene on the roof of the dorms?" Bo suggested from the top of the stairwell.

Did the mountie hat she may or may not have stolen from a stuffed moose add or subtract from any authority that the black SECURITY t-shirt and crossed arms provided? Either way, she was planning on blaming Jamie Madrox.

"Ummmm..." Look, Kenzi had maybe gotten a little carried away with the installation. Or gotten away with it one too many times. She actually didn't have a defense ready. "Wellll..."

"I don't know, I don't think that would..." Bart turned around slowly to see who was there and froze, eyes wide.

There was a scarlet blur and the bunny in his hand was on the other side of the roof. Then he wiped his hands on his pants to try to get the paint off. Then he looked at his pants and gasped at the paint that was now smeared all over them. He thought for half a second, and there was another blur and he was back, wearing different pants.

"um..."

Well, if he was looking to chivalrously distract attention from Kenzi for a moment, it worked.

"...Teleporter?" Bo guessed. Her knowledge of freaky-powered people who weren't her was, um. Limited.

"Who? Me?" He pointed at himself with the most innocent look he can muster.

"Um. No, I'm... I don't know what you're talking about." He wiped his brow, trying to get rid of some of the sweat that was accumulating.

"I'm a completely normal... um... person." This wasn't working, was it?

"It's art!" Kenzi blurted out, trying to distract from Bart now. "And recycling! Mr. Madrox stuck them all in Professor Skywalker's office, and we already spread chickens all over the island, so." Duh! "Art!"

Bo bit her lip and tried not to smile. "As opposed to, say, littering, which you just confessed to doing twice now."

Like she'd ever had any doubt about who was responsible for the chickens.

"But! But!" Bart's mind was racing with what to tell her.

"It's... um... Art! And we were cleaning them up and..." He didn't want to go to jail. He was convinced that's where he was going. Bad guys go to jail. He was a good guy.

"We were just... um..." He looked at Kenzi. He wasn't a very good liar, but she was supposed to be better, right?

For when not getting caught paint-handed, sure!

"Come on, this is... look at it! Look how cool it is!" Kenzi said, pointing around at their bunny crime scene investigation. "This isn't litter! This is an expression of Fandom! Seriously!"

Look at that little guy in his raincoat! C'mon! Didn't he look like the lead on Crime Scene: Nevada?

Maybe a little.

Shut up.

"Much as I hate to interrupt your Youtube-worthy panic attacks, I so don't give a crap how many adorable corpses you scatter around the island." She was willing to yank Kenzi's chain for a good while longer, but the boy was way too much like a baby bunny himself, all twitchy and huge-eyed. "As long as they were never alive to start with."

Hypocrite.

"I.." He looked from Bo to Kenzi and back to Bo. "I can totally clean it all up! And I can do it real quick!"

Kenzi gave Bo a look of mingled NOOOO! and TA-DA! It was hard to tell which would win. Then she whipped out her phone.

"I need to take photos first! Just... wait, okay? Please, Bo?" she cajoled. "We put so much work into it!"

Okay, Bart did the heavy lifting, but still!

"I do give a damn about the paint," Bo pointed out.

Mostly because she had a suspicion Zoe would give a damn about the paint. AKA As an authority figure I'm probably supposed to be mad about this. Right? She didn't, mind you, make any move to undo the 'art installation' yet, or step between Kenzi and her photo target.

"Finished!" Kenzi looked mournful. "Okay, Bart. Time to dismantle it."

"Or..." Bo interjected, or tried to, but, well. Bart. Who knew if she got it out in time.

By the time bo had gotten the word out of her mouth, most of the spectator bunnies and some of the police bunnies were gone. He stopped in mid stride, arms full of bunnies in front of her. "Or?" He looked a little dejected at Kenzi, then at the bunnies still on the roof, then at Bo.

"Or... I help too?" Kenzi guessed. Moving to the bunnies. "But you don't have to go slow, Bart! That cat's out of the bag."

See, Bo? You'll make him sad if you make him b slow!

"Or you clean it up on Sunday and leave the crime scene up over the weekend as a warning to others about what'll happen to them if they paint on the roof?"

It was an awful lot of work to take down with nobody getting to see it.

Also, Bo might have been slightly influenced by returning to her own office this week to find it covered in Canada. And moose. Unlike Some Authority Figures, her first reaction hadn't been to yell MADROOOOOOOOOOX...

It had been to hug the moose. SHUT UP IT WAS ADORABLE.

Bart looked at her for a second, not quite understanding, then looked at Kenzi and then at the bunnies, then at Kenzi again.

Another scarlet blur and the bunnies were back in place, all agape at the grizzly murder scene. Which was good, since he hadn't known were to put them and they were all stacked in a pile in their room.

SQUEE!! Kenzi beamed at Bo, just refraining from hugging her, then going back to put the bunnies she had down next to the others.

"And can I just say-- awesome hat?"

Bo paused as if she had to think about it. "No. Sounds too much like I'm letting you out of getting busted in exchange for sucking up. Also, I'm trying not to get too attached to it just in case Madrox--" Right. Authority Figure. "In case Mister Madrox stole it from Hot Mountie."

Because Authority Figures totally called the former occupant of their position of authority 'Hot Mountie.'

Bart didn't know what a Mountie was, no matter a hot one. So all he could think of was that one time that Max tried to show him the Olympics on TV. So now Bart was picturing a gymnast jumping on and off a beam which was on fire, wearing that hat.

His face probably reflected the oddness of that image.

"Okay, then I take back the hat comment," Kenzi said without missing a beat, and then, probably confusing Bart further, "Is he really hot? I haven't met him yet, just tried to avoid him when I br--- I mean, when we visited Mr. Caffrey's place."

"I've only seen him on video feeds, but judging from that, it's not an ironic nickname."
