Laundry Room, All Day Sunday [Detention]

This morning, signs had handwavily gone up in the common rooms advertising the presence of a free laundry service in the laundry room today who would wash people's clothes upon request. That free laundry service (read: pair of students in detention) was less than thrilled about the arrangement.

"I don't see why I have to be here," Topher whined, kicking the machine he was sitting on. "I didn't do anything!"

"You shrank my clothes, asshat," Ramona replied, rolling her eyes as she investigated the room for a window she could crack so she could smoke. "Shut up and get ready to use some fabric softener. Maybe no one'll show."

"I have asthma," Topher informed her. "You can't smoke in here."

A beat.

"And what's fabric softener?"

Peter had absolutely no intention of requesting Topher's services for his laundry. Topher barely even knew how to wash himself - if that - so Peter thought he had a good reason to doubt his prowess with other people's clothes.

That didn't mean he wasn't going to show up and torment keep him company for as long as it amused him.

It wasn't that Annie was just fine with people handling her laundry, but she was a little low on laundry money, what with the Canada trip and homecoming and all the Halloween stuff. It wore on a girl's finances, and so she was not going to be looking any detergent-loaded gift horses in the mouth.

Of course then she saw who was there. The lemur guy and the girl with the hair she'd never actually met. "So, is it you two doing the laundry today?" she said, striving for casual.

"These are for you," Quinn said with no prologue, as she offered an armful of white cotton to Topher. "Make sure you get them really, really clean."

There was a night shirt or two in there to make it seem like a legit load and not entirely pervy, but if he accepted the clothes he'd have an armful of sweaty sports bras. Quinn had even thoughtfully included a few that weren't really dirty.

Poor Topher.

Puck knew better than to go anywhere near that girl with the hair, and besides, Quinn had said this kid was the annoying one.

"Free laundry day!" he cheered, holding out an arm load of boxers, sweaty undershirts and jerseys, and a few questionably crusty socks. "You're Topher, right?"

Dave came down to the laundry room with a load of laundry. Mind you, it wasn't his laundry. He'd heard about Topher destroying clothes before.

"How are you doing so far?" Dave had to ask. He was really wondering if anyone had punched him yet.

Working at 'Dite's and having an...excitable...boyfriend, Karla had racked up a lot of lingerie. Some of it, upon bringing it home and trying it on, had been deemed unsuitable to wear: uncomfortable, unpleasant color on, ill-fitting, whatever. Because of 'Dite's strict 'no returns' policy, there was an ever-growing collection of useless lingerie in the back of Karla's closet.

Useless until now, anyway.

"Kiss kiss!" Karla announced, walking into the laundry room with a large armload of fripperies. "I'm here to get my laundry done!"

She would never allow Topher within a foot of her real laundry. But this? Was priceless.

Nathan had sets of dirty skinny jeans over one arm when he wandered into the laundry with the intention of trying to figure out how the fuck to do his laundry without staining the shit to kingdom come.

Finding Topher and Ramona in there wasn't exactly what he expected but he could roll with it, awkwardness or not.

"I didn't realize you and Topher had a laundry date today," Nathan quipped with a smirk. "How romantic."
