The Roof, Saturday Morning

Using magic on the remaining bruises from the complete moron Phobos was the goal for the day. Ikol's advice on the matter had only been mildly helpful (mostly confusing) and so he was left to his own devices on it.

This would be so much more simple had his elder-self thought to keep his knowledge of magic perfectly intact. Ugh.

For now, he sat on the roof in just his normal clothing from Asgard, hood down as he focused. People here didn't seem to realize this was a remarkably mild winter. Barely even worthy of the name 'winter' at that.

"Oh, I'm actually familiar with dealings of gods," Wesley assured him. He was an ex-Watcher, Loki. GOD. "But given that he's already attacked you once, and isn't likely to simply forget that you're here on the island..."

"Congratulations," Wes said mildly. "But I think you'll find giving birth to horses to be less than entirely impressive to most of the students here."

YEAH, HE WENT THERE.

Loki narrowed his eyes at Wesley for that. "I'm certain you're mistaking your stories. Ask Phobos just what Loki is capable of."

AND LEAVE HIS HORSE BABY OUT OF THIS.

"I've no need to ask him," Wesley assured Loki. "I studied your mythology for years before coming here."

DON'T YOU GO NEAR HIS BOOKS, LOKI. THEY WERE PRIVATE.

"Mythology implies we don't exist," Loki pointed out. "And they also say I'm an adult. Not to mention the leader of the forces against Asgard when Ragnorak comes."

"You mentioned an elder-self," Wesley reminded him. "Might that have been him?"

"Dead and gone. Come and gone," Loki replied in a sort of sing-song. "Stories only have so much power."

"No one is immortal," he granted Wesley. "But if you're clever enough, you can slip loose from death. And Loki is the most clever of all the gods."

"Or I could consult any number of the books I have on the subject," Wesley pointed out. "Almost all of which rank Odin far above yourself."

"I am not the Loki of your books." A beat. "And the All-Father is none of your concern."
