The Roof, Saturday Morning

Using magic on the remaining bruises from the complete moron Phobos was the goal for the day. Ikol's advice on the matter had only been mildly helpful (mostly confusing) and so he was left to his own devices on it.

This would be so much more simple had his elder-self thought to keep his knowledge of magic perfectly intact. Ugh.

For now, he sat on the roof in just his normal clothing from Asgard, hood down as he focused. People here didn't seem to realize this was a remarkably mild winter. Barely even worthy of the name 'winter' at that.

While some people were emoing it up on the roof, other people were... okay, also coming to emo it up on the roof. Or reflect. Wesley preferred reflect.

"How terribly confusing it must be for you then," Loki replied, casting him a glance out of the corner of his eye.

"...I think I'm adjusting," Wesley said after a moment. "But thank you for your concern."

Loki, you would take that side-eye and you would like it.

"It looks like it's roof day," Tara said lightly. "Hi, Wes. Happy almost-new-year."

"Same to you," Wesley offered back, smiling a little. "How've you been?"

"Really good," Tara said. "Lately, anyhow. I did the Christmas at Sookie's house thing and then my little sister turned out to be ... someone i think I can help. What about you?"

"Oh! Anna, yes?" he checked. "I met her yesterday. She mentioned that you were particularly helpful." Not a huge shock, because Tara, but. "And, ah, I've been all right." Except for the bandage on his face, anyway. "It was a bit of an odd break, so this coming semester is a welcome change."

Tara didn't come up on the roof often, but it seemed like a good place to sit and reflect on the last day of the year. She had a book at hand, but mostly she wanted to just ... be.

Well. She could be with other people.

"Oh," she said to the new guy. "Hi. Nice ... day for the roof."

Inane, but small talk had never been her forte.

At least she wasn't going to act surprised to see someone there. Wesley. And she hopefully wasn't another roommate of the Ares-son.

...did people have more than one? Ugh, this place was horrible.

"Is this where everyone goes?"

"Looks like the answer is yes today," Tara said, with a tiny smile. "Sorry, the island can sometimes feel a little ... cramped."

"I'm starting to suspect the dorms are even moreso," Loki replied like the sulky teenage boy he was. Look, even gods didn't get to avoid that phase. "Must they force us to live in one room with someone else?"

Tara shrugged. "Sometimes people drop out and you get a room to yourself," she offered. "I had my own room for about a year that way. Not ... into your roomie?"

Anna was--not exactly emoing. Okay, she was emoing, but also, she had realized that the roof was higher up than anywhere she'd been in possibly her entire life, and she wanted to see what the view was like. So she could know what she would be looking at while she brooded.

She wasn't expecting it to be already occupied. "Hello again," she said softly.

"Have you managed shoes?" Loki asked, head tilted curiously at her. A spirit could always be useful, after all.

Anna shook her head and looked down at her bare feet, wiggling her toes. "Not yet. No money, you know. Makes things difficult."

"I'm certain you could find a pair in the dorms." That's called theft, Loki.

Anakin had made a habit of climbing the Massassi temple on Yavin 4 when he'd been a student at the Jedi Academy.

Now that he was back at school, climbing the building seemed like a thing to do even if it wasn't the same thing, doing it by himself.

So he made it up to the roof, but not in the usual way -- a messy head of brown hair poked up over the edge of the roof just before Anakin hauled himself up over the edge and dropped down to sit.

"Oh, hi."

Loki peered over at him for a moment before deciding to comment. "Has no one told you of the existence of stairs?"

"Oh, I know about those," Anakin said, waving a hand. "But that's the easy way. This was more fun."

"And less suicidal," Loki replied dryly. "Are you that bored of this school already?"

"Hello," Anna said, blinking at him. Then she suggested, "There are stairs, you know."

"I'm aware," Anakin replied with a crooked smile that wasn't quite Solo-grin territory yet. "Just thought I'd see what it was like coming up the side, instead."
