The Roof, Saturday Morning

Using magic on the remaining bruises from the complete moron Phobos was the goal for the day. Ikol's advice on the matter had only been mildly helpful (mostly confusing) and so he was left to his own devices on it.

This would be so much more simple had his elder-self thought to keep his knowledge of magic perfectly intact. Ugh.

For now, he sat on the roof in just his normal clothing from Asgard, hood down as he focused. People here didn't seem to realize this was a remarkably mild winter. Barely even worthy of the name 'winter' at that.

Loki made a face at the mention of demons. Ugh, so annoying.

"Do not name it again. Some can find you simply by speaking their name. I shall ask her, though."

Ew, no, "I definitely will not do that again, then," Anna told him solemnly. "And I thank you."

"No thanks necessary." Just expect to repay him at some point, Anna. And then fleeeee.

Apparently no one had ever taught Anna about not getting in debt to supernatural entities. Yet another thing to thank her mother for. "It's nice up here, isn't it?" she asked. "You can see everything."

"It's not bad," he replied after a moment, glancing at her out of the corner of his eye to see if she was being truthful in her small talk. "My rooms back home were in a high tower."

That was half demolished by his own hand, but still.

"I couldn't leave my house," Anna said conversationally. "For the longest time. I couldn't even go onto the porch." She trailed off, then said, "Of course, all things considered, that was probably for the best."

"Why?"

[dressedinblood]

"Because of the curse." She made it sound so obvious.

[abitlowkey]

"And how did you break the curse?"

[dressedinblood]

"There was a boy. He came to kill me," Anna explained, smiling softly at the memory. "But for some reason I didn't have to kill him, and he wound up breaking the curse instead. He found my dress--my real dress, I mean--and he took it from the house and he gave it back to me."

"Sounds romantic," Loki drawled. "If you're interested in that sort of thing."

Anna shot a glare at him. "You know what? It kind of was." Except for all the parts where they tried to scare or kill each other.
