Second floor common room- Thursday evening
This week was... interesting. Stacey usually dated around, sure, but she had no idea what was with her this week. Which wasn't to say it was bad. Just... not exactly typical.
There was American Idol on the TV, not that Stacey really liked it, but because it was really hard to think bad things when people were screeching all over the TV. Except for when she found herself thinking Ryan Seacrest was kind of cute. She was just going to have to remind herself how short he was and not stop.
[Open like a common room! Let's give myself even more links, why not.]

"Anyone here?" Matt called out as he tapped his way into the common room.

"Stacey," Matt said cautiously. "Hi."
Okay. It's a bit awkward.
"So. About the other night... I really need to apologize for what happened."
no subject
"It got a little intense," she admitted.
Stacey was not a normal, non-self-centered person.

Also atypical. Usually there's be a little bit of cold shouldering and complaining to people about how things were over until she decided it wasn't a big deal really.

Yes. He remembered their earlier conversation.

"I'd like that," Matt said with a smile of relief. "It's a date. This time I promise I won't let anything interrupt it."

No reason of course.
"So what are we watching, here?"

Let's all be glad she graduated eighth grade before the reality show craze, or she might know someone who tried out.

"Dear God. They let people that bad on TV?"
no subject
"I guess it's supposed to be entertainment," she said.
no subject
"I just feel sorry for those people. Can they not hear themselves?"
For Matt the bad singing was especially painful. Sometimes having enhanced hearing was a detriment.
"Not to mention the humiliation when they're on national TV."
no subject
"But they get to be famous for the five minutes they're on." She wasn't sure if that was a plus or a minus, actually.
no subject
"Well I guess five minutes is better than nothing," Matt admitted. "Even if they do sound horrible."

But his hands were starting to hurt from the scissors he used to tidy up his bonsai tree, and he was getting a little bit hungry, and so, with the potted plant tucked safely under his arm, he ventured cautiously toward the common room.
And tried not to let out a frightened little squeak when he saw a girl in there. He hid, briefly, behind the bonsai, but then slowly emerged from underneath it and took a deep, calming breath. His hand twitched. It was okay, he told himself. Everyone still had their clothes on.
"H-hi," he said, hugging the plant closer and finding solace in its perfect trimmings. Not bushy at all....

"That does sound relaxing," she agreed. Maybe a little boring, but relaxing. "Maybe you could even make it into shapes?"

that the mun totally flopped onthe other day!" He laughed a little, easing into the chair now with the bonsai settled smartly in his lap. "I remembered, 'cause that's your real name!"no subject
