It was probably best not to explain how it had come to this. But it really started with the fact that there weren't enough girls around right now and, well, Bruce had been somewhat preoccupied with girls this week.

That lack of girls to occupy his time brought him to the sixth floor, where he found the sign. You know, the one by the entry to the common room that said "~~TOTALLY HETERO SHIRTLESS BRO BASH~~ GUY PARTY." Yes, as the crossed out portion of the sign indicated, Bruce was shirtless. It was hard work getting all of the stuff set up, with the TVs and tables and stuff. That was work you couldn't do with a shirt on with things being what they were with the heat and such.

And boy, was there a lot to set up. Bruce made sure there were a few TV screens set up, a poker table, and a selection of sodas, chips, and sandwiches.

This was why crime in Gotham was screwed. This was the kind of party Bruce Wayne threw on a whim. And he didn't even have to punch anyone to make it happen.

"The moment passed before it even arrived, Cara," Bruce said. "But I'm sure everyone will regret it when they realize what they've missed."

"Some of us already are." Your sign promised shirtlessness, Bruce. Cara felt lied to.

It was crossed out! Crossed out!

"Some of us will have another chance to see it soon enough, I'm sure," Bruce said.

Lied to! Between this and slumber party avoiding mentioning the girlkissing, Cara's life was full of lies and false advertising.

"I imagine that chance would arrive faster if it was going to be reciprocated."

"It will. Just not right now," Bruce said.

"Is that a promise?" Look, there was a break coming up, he might get distracted and forget and she would continue to be deprived of shirtless eyecandy.

It was break in Rio. There would be shirtlessness. "Yes, it is," Bruce said. "I don't need to put it in writing, do I?"

Cara had few problems taking him at his word, however... "I'd hope it's not going to be long enough that you'd need a written reminder."

"That depends on how break goes, I'd imagine. But it shouldn't be hard to find me without a shirt there," Bruce said.

"Because people would be more willing to help if I was looking without a shirt?" Yes, she knew that wasn't what he'd meant.

"That too," Bruce said.

"Would you?" Cara asked. "Help."

She was fairly certain that given the right circumstances he'd go searching without a shirt.

"That depends on what you needed help doing," Bruce said.

"I could think of a few things." Especially this week. "But depending on the weather it might be finding a shirt."

The word shirt was starting to lose all meaning to Cara.
