Main Campfire, Sunday Evening
Sholeh was dealing fairly well with the cabins. She was used to sharing close quarters, even if normally it was just with her sisters. Never being alone made for usual ideas about space and privacy. Sharing a tent with a swan--though Lucrezia was a very well-behaved and gentle swan--was something new entirely.
And so were s'mores. Tasty, tasty s'mores.
The light from the campfire was bright enough to read by, and Sholeh was alternating between making s'mores for herself and feeding Lucrezia strips of bread.

Or maybe it had something to do with the fact that his s'mores radar was tingling, and there was maybe a chance that he'd be able to snatch some marshmallows.
"Shooooooo-leh."
Guess who!
no subject
They'd met.

"It's like you know me," he proclaimed, reaching out a hand for the marshmallow bag because thank you, that's why. "They are public marshmallows, right?"
There was a large bird nearby. He'd process that in a moment.
no subject
Fair warning!
"There're chocolate and graham cookies in another bag," she added. "Also public."
no subject
Five.
Five marshmallows, and then he was going to stick one into his mouth just the way it was while he looked around for a stick to skewer the next one on.
"Your sister Zeela likes marshmallows too, does she? Because if she does, that just means I have more competition."
no subject
=Oh, right, because you don't or whatever.= Zeela snorted. =And no we would not get along. He's a brat.=
::See! Perfect match!::
"I'll just have to keep a bag of these tasty treats for myself," Sholeh decided. "Me and Lady Lucrezia here."
Lucrezia honked. In agreement, obviously.

Yes. Yes, Sparkle just realized that Lucrezia was standing there and wasn't come kind of funky lawn ornament.
"Or a goose. Is that a goose?"
He was going to get his ass kicked by the ugly duckling, wasn't he?

That was a yes, Ulrik.
"How did you do? You at least have like some guys in your tent or something, right? Because I had to go to work to change my underwear today, there is no way I'm doing it if any of the girls are going to walk in on me, and at least one of us better be able to change his clothes without having to make an announcement to the campground to stay out when he wants to take off his pants, okay."
... It was probably not as bad as Sparkle had decided it was, in fairness.

And that would be a no, Ulrik.
"So, what, that means you're with all guys or something? You're going to make me jealous, Ulrik. Like completely jealous. I'm going to steal your sleeping bag if you're not careful, you know."
He might even make that attempt, yes.

It was the only way.

"What are you making?" he asked Sholeh wonderingly, taking a seat by the fire.

She added the cookie to the s'more in her hand and offered it up. "Wanna try?"
no subject
...And then ending up having to scramble to keep the remainder from tumbling to the ground as it all oozed out in a sticky, chocolate-and-marshmallowy mess. "You're right," he said, after finishing it off. "That is delicious."
no subject
And then handed Ulrik another s'more, which suggested she wasn't too upset about it.

Dirty?"What?" Sholeh teased. "Make me eggs sometime?"

Also, there were those s'mores again. "Pleeeeease?"

Back to Sholeh. "Of course it is! Food, glorious fooood," she almost sang. "We're teenagers. We're susceptible and easily manipulated by food bribes... No, please don't eat those shoelaces."
no subject
Which made sharing a tent that much easier. Except for all the feathers.

Of which nothing more would ever be said. Ever.
"I'm Sholeh. I'm new this term. Or, was, I guess. We'll be getting a bunch of new people soon?"
