Pajama Club Meeting: First floor lobby, Tuesday after classes

Olive's pants and baby blue tank top were a lot more whimsical than she necessarily felt today, between the weekend and then dealing with stuff with Jim last night, not to mention her inner battle of stupid earlier (which, spoiler: she had been a total chicken and stupid had won and she'd slunk back to the dorms with her coffee and Trix without purposely going to see anyone. Because she sucked.)

But it was pajama club, dammit. She would put on a whimsical face for them. Plus, it'd probably help her mood, some. So the TV had cartoons on it -- not the crappy ones they showed nowadays, but the good Looney Tunes stuff she remembered being on TV sometimes when she was a kid. And there was cereal. And blankets. Let's all just make a cuddle fort, okay?

"Does anyone have any trauma to share from the weekend?" Olive asked, over her bowl of cereal. "Because I don't feel like sharing my trauma but maybe someone has a better story. Also I don't have trauma so much as irritation and relief people are gone, but I figured that 'trauma' makes for a better reason to lie around in our pajamas, am I right?"

Stacey and her pajamas (http://media.kohls.com.edgesuite.net/is/image/kohls/1169258_Green_83?wid=1000&hei=1000&op_sharpen=1) weren't being paid, but they would appreciate it. Mostly she was down for the blankets.

"My parents weren't even here, this weekend," Arietty noted. That's what happened when you arrived at school by unexpected, deep underground portal in the sewers under London. "Does that count as trauma? I would have loved to have seen them."

"My weekend wasn't so bad," Toby shrugged. "The guy who visited me is a pretty laid-back sort. I guess I can count myself lucky he didn't try and like, interrogate any of my friends about me mostly cause the player was overwhelmed with school all weekend."

"Don't mind if I do," Toby said, obligingly reaching for some Fruit Loops. "See? You were clearly worried for nothing." At least, in his specific case. So there.

"I missed Ray? Damn." Kenzi pouted a little. Ray was cool! "We need to like, visit him and take him out to eat and stuff."

Without trying the dine-and-ditch, this time.

"He'd even pay," Toby said with a smirk. "Probably."

"No parents, no relatives, no aunts looking to scam the populace," Kenzi said, raising her arms over her head. "Go me with the lack! Maybe they forgot I'm here."

Which was both a happy and a sad thought, so yay. Cocoa Puffs.

"Crap about grades?" Kenzi hazarded. "Crap about ... being far away?" She took another spoonful of cereal. "Tatya Ludmilla just gave me a bad time about not calling enough, last time."

"I would have loved to have seen my parents, but they couldn't make it," Petra complained. Stupid money.

Somewhere late in the afternoon, Victor finally looked up from the last of his code-wrangling and realized: No visit from Olive.

He ... didn't want to too closely examine his reasons for deciding this meant this was an excellent week to turn up sheepishly at the end of pajama club. But here he was, looking over the remnants of the cereal and Olive in her tank top and Doughboy pants.

And ... now he should probably say something. "So," he said, with a little wave. "...hey."

Yes. That was something. More words would come later.
