fandomhighdorms | Pajama Club Meeting: First floor lobby, Tuesday after classes

Olive's pants and baby blue tank top were a lot more whimsical than she necessarily felt today, between the weekend and then dealing with stuff with Jim last night, not to mention her inner battle of stupid earlier (which, spoiler: she had been a total chicken and stupid had won and she'd slunk back to the dorms with her coffee and Trix without purposely going to see anyone. Because she sucked.)

But it was pajama club, dammit. She would put on a whimsical face for them. Plus, it'd probably help her mood, some. So the TV had cartoons on it -- not the crappy ones they showed nowadays, but the good Looney Tunes stuff she remembered being on TV sometimes when she was a kid. And there was cereal. And blankets. Let's all just make a cuddle fort, okay?

"Does anyone have any trauma to share from the weekend?" Olive asked, over her bowl of cereal. "Because I don't feel like sharing my trauma but maybe someone has a better story. Also I don't have trauma so much as irritation and relief people are gone, but I figured that 'trauma' makes for a better reason to lie around in our pajamas, am I right?"

"My weekend wasn't so bad," Toby shrugged. "The guy who visited me is a pretty laid-back sort. I guess I can count myself lucky he didn't try and like, interrogate any of my friends about me ~~mostly cause the player was overwhelmed with school all weekend."~~

"Plus Rhiannon didn't maul you," Olive noted. "Well done. Have some victory cereal."

"Don't mind if I do," Toby said, obligingly reaching for some Fruit Loops. "See? You were clearly worried for nothing." At least, in his specific case. So there.

Olive snorted. "Just in your specific instance," she said, burrowing deeper into her nest of blankets. "I was worried exactly enough. Maybe not enough."

"Did she actually do like, lasting damage?" Toby wondered, without a trace of the flippantness from just moments ago.

"I think I did, but she facilitated it," Olive said, irrationally. It was definitely not Rhi's fault, except that she'd mentioned things that Olive hadn't...brought up to people here, really. But still. Rhiannon was an easy scapegoat.

"That bites," Toby offered. "Fixable, do you think?" he asked. "Sorry- I'm not trying to, like, pry or anything. Just..." he shrugged. He saw a friend in trouble, he wanted to help. Even if the only help he could offer was being a sounding board.

Olive lifted a shoulder. "I dunno. I'm too close to it to figure it out right now," she admitted. "Mostly I just feel like an idiot."

Hence the wallowing. Right. "Hey, I feel like an idiot at least once a day," Toby said, spreading his arms out in a 'what can you do' sort of gesture. "So... at least the company's good?"

"We can form a club," Olive noted thoughtfully. "Within this club. Twice the club."

It made sense, shut up.

"Like that movie with the guy and the dream thing!" Toby said, nodding solemnly. "Maybe we're already in another club but don't even know it."

"You are waiting for a train...." Olive intoned solemnly. "I wish I had a top to spin."

"We've got spoons?" Toby offered.

It wasn't quite the same.

Olive reached out to spin her spoon on the coffee table.

"I think that means we're still in original club reality?" she said, eyeing it.

"I hope so." Toby said. "I don't wanna have to deal with like, another layer of reality or whatever. This one's more than enough."

"I missed Ray? Damn." Kenzi pouted a little. Ray was cool! "We need to like, visit him and take him out to eat and stuff."

Without trying the dine-and-ditch, this time.

"He'd even pay," Toby said with a smirk. "Probably."

"We could persuade him!" Probably not by telling him the alternative, though. "How's he doing, though?"

"Teaching, this year, apparently," Toby shared. "He's already got a little fanclub and everything."

"Seriously?!" Kenzi snickered. "What is he teaching, and where? Can we show up and audit his course? Pretend we're students?"

"Advanced Parapsychology at U of T," Toby informed her. "It's not everyone's cup of tea."

"Ghost Chaser stuff?" Kenzi questioned. "Or more like superpowers?"
