The dorms lawn- Friday afternoon

Sia had Vitor trained pretty well, but he was a breed that needed activity, or she'd come back to her room to find it destroyed. So she brought him to the front lawn to let him run around unleashed for a while, since telekinesis was really good for keeping puppies from successfully running off.

After a while of sitting and watching him attack some leaves, she decided she had no idea what he was doing. And that he was probably having more fun than her at any given moment.

"Now maybe you won't have to anymore," Sia said, looking up at him. "Hello."

"Hey," Atton said, padding further onto the lawn. "What's going on? Besides the impending threat your pet's fighting over here."

"Absolutely nothing," she said. "I'm letting him get his excess energy out now so I don't spend my entire night tossing a ball across the room. Yourself?"

"I just spent an entire class hanging around and drinking punch because our teacher wants us to socialize," Atton said. "Real useful."

"That sounds thrilling," Sia told him. "I'm just amazed no one spiked the punch."

She'd been to one dance here and was on to how things worked, yes.

"I think that was the teacher throwing glares at us from his end of the room," Atton said.

Besides, he preferred to stand back and let someone else do the spiking; it was less conspicuous.

"Why did he want you to socialize, anyway? It's awkward enough when you're forced to do it in real life?" Not that she ever got awkward about it, but she knew others did.

"I don't know," Atton admitted, sitting down next to her. "I mean, when I signed on for it, I thought it was going to be some kind of urban survivalist class. Turns out it's mostly about hugs and kisses and how much Fandom has made us feel better. Or something."

"Suddenly I wish I could audit this class just once," she almost smiled.

And hope you didn't mind more socialization, Atton, because Vitor had just noticed you and needed to say hi right now.

"I spend most of it sleeping--" Atton started.

And then there was a dog nearly crawling into his lap. "Hey!"

Vitor just wanted to show Atton how glad he was that he was here! By licking!

"He's very friendly," Sia said, unnecessarily.

"Yeah, I can tell-- hey, stay away from the face!"

There was some minor, manly flailing. Look, he was trying not to injure the thing!

"Space, there's drool all over my pants!"

Give him a couple of seconds. He'd adjust.

"Just wait until you get to watch him when I'm home," Sia smiled.

"Ugh," Atton commented, but the dog had calmed down a little. He let go of his flailgrip on Vitor, who sat down.

"He likes you," she said. Just in case that wasn't obvious.

"Yeah? He's even more subtle about it than you are," Atton grumped.

He was petting the dog now. Shut it.

"And yet I refuse to lick anyone to get my point across," she said. She totally saw the petting and was just going to file that away, thank you.

"Trust me, I'm grateful," Atton said. Because she was a baby. "It'd take me an hour to get my hair back to normal."

Sia frowned. "Why your hair?"

"I don't know, licking," Atton said, making a vague gesture at his head.

"I wouldn't be licking your head," Sia said, unable to believe she was saying that.

"You would if you were working at it like this guy," Atton said, scritching the guy behind the ear. He seemed to like that.

"It's interesting being woken up that way," Sia told him. "I've yet to be able to train him out of it."

That actually made him laugh. "Yeah? You ever wake up with your hair standing at weird angles?"

That'd be a sight.

"My hair's too long for that." Which was the only reason. "I would also wake up to find that he would try to sleep on my pillow. He makes life interesting."

She was maybe glad she'd been talked into keeping him. Just a little.
