2nd Floor Common Room, Thursday Afternoon

So, guess you couldn't leave Peter alone for too long. Or maybe he was feeling particularly frustrated with his foxness today. Natalie didn't know. What she did know was that she'd come back from her visit to Clint's office and found her desk in disarray, and Mr. Moxy hissing at Peter like he'd really crossed some kind of line by messing up Natalie's workspace.

She'd left the cat in the room and ushered the fox out into the hallway with her. She'd been meaning to go for a snack, anyway. "It was because I took the laptop with me, wasn't it?" she asked, as they were entering the common room. "Already told you you can't use it, anyway."

Peter the fox seemed to give her an indignant look.

"What?" she asked. "You'd just scratch it. We've been over this. You don't even have your own independent narrative." Too bad foxes couldn't roll their eyes all that well, though she got the message. "And don't give me that look, I know you don't. So, there's nothing you can or should be doing on a computer right now."

Was that a whine?

"You're a fox. Deal with it."

She was going to get them some cereal right now. And yes, newbies, arguing with animals was a thing that occasionally happened in this town. In case you hadn't figured that out yet.

[ooc: Open!]

"So the fox talks back?"

Emily was expecting the answer to be yes, because it was easier to deal with than thinking of Natalie as clinically insane. It really was! It was also more entertaining than trying to find something interesting on the television.

Well that was a nice stare. Emily pretended to be none the wiser though, eyes opening a bit more at the answer. "So, gender bending, animal transformation. Am I missing something else?"

The blinking was...appreciated. "Things? Other people? What the hell is wrong with this place? No, wait, I bet people have lists of what's wrong."

She really, really didn't want to think about that sort of stuff. "Although...now I have to wonder how does it feel to be an inanimate object."

Neutral and uninterested Emily could deal with. Maybe with a bit if jealously, as she was the one forced to pretend to care, but she could certainly keep on pretending anyway.

"Well that's fortunate. Maybe I should ask him once he's back," said as she looked at the fox.

Emily wondered if she was about to get bitten by a fox.

"Well, he's a fox. That will have to do." She wasn't going to be picky.

Narrative blind as she was, Emily didn't feel any safer. Oh well.

"So it's like you're still there...but not quite? Or do you forget all of the time you spent as an animal..."

These were Serious Questions. And that was quite a smug face for a fox.

"Ah, that sucks. I'm guessing the clothes don't stick around, either?"

It all sounded like too much of a hassle. Like she had a chance to avoid it, of course.

Now all she had to worry about was not to end as a fish or something ridiculous.

Instead of answering she gave one long, pointed stare at the fox. "If you say so."
