Fifth floor common room [early afternoon]

Rilla and Jims, dressed in their Easter best, had returned from church on the mainland and were now in the common room. They (well, Rilla. Jims was only so helpful) unloaded an enormous hamper of food that Susan had sent from Ingleside. Despite Rilla being at school for three years, nothing could convince Susan that Yankees knew the first thing about cooking.

So there were hot cross buns and pies and cakes and cookies while Rilla was starting on some eggs and tea and Jims was trying to fit himself into the now-empty hamper.

Have some Easter brunch, everyone! Rilla promises not to check to see if you attended a service.

But Rilla.

You kind of are.

"Circumstances have kept me from going as much as I would like to," said Emily as she winced a little due to unexpected exclaiming. "But don't worry, you're not alone." It wasn't just her the one that would make her company.

The same girl that worked on the Sex Shop? Emily wouldn't be surprised if she were to ever connect the dots.

"Well, sometimes we don't get to pick our names," Emily said trying not to smile too much. The things she had to say.

"Maybe that's the nickn- no, wait, that would be worse," Emily said as she wondered just what century was Rilla from. Cultural differences were tricky. "Could be short for something else?"

"I can't even think of a name that could fit anyway," Emily said with a little frown. "But hey, it's not like he's all...Satan-like, right?"

Well...

"You're far saner than many people here," Emily said without hesitation, because she supposed it was close enough to the truth.
