Archery Range - Saturday Morning
Kate had not gone to Prom last night because...it just wasn't going to happen. Especially with whatever the other weird stuff was that had been going on all week.
Today, however, she was back on the range and getting frustrated with a move that she still hadn't mastered. It shouldn't be that hard to shoot six arrows while spinning a full 360 degrees, but those last two arrows never ended properly. Sometimes the last even missed the target entirely, and that was just not okay. This was possible. She'd seen Hawkeye do it so clearly it was possible. It just didn't seem to be possible for Kate quite yet.
Today, however, today might just be the day if she could figure out what was throwing her off at the end.
[OOC: Open post, for one fairly obvious guest in particular]

When he entered and encountered a spinning Kate, he paused to watch her try to execute the move and found himself rather impressed. Sure, that sixth arrow didn't land, but those first four...
"Not bad," he commented. "I'm positive I couldn't do that."
no subject
"Shouldn't you be enjoying post-Prom glow instead of being down here?"
no subject
...Well, maybe one-third better. He could probably get at least a couple of those arrows.
"I didn't really stay at prom very long," Alec replied. "It was a bit boring." Sex, it turned out, was much more interesting. "Did you have other plans last night or something?"
no subject
Kate shrugged. "Just wasn't feeling it. And if it was boring anyway, I didn't miss much." She smirked at him. "How's your date?"
no subject
See Alec. See Alec glance all around the range in search of something else to fixate on. La la la.

Cassandra burst into the range - at regular speed, but she always made an Entrance no matter how fast she was going.
"There you are! It's kind of sad that you're this predictable even when you're my age," she informed her parents. "I mean, really."
no subject
What. What.
He knew there were kids visiting this weekend, but -- him? And Kate? What?
Then he looked at Kate. "Uh."
no subject
"Sorry to disappoint you," she offered though her snark wasn't nearly at its best. She looked at Alec, trying to figure out who this person that kind of looked like him was. "Wait, no, not sorry, because who are you again?"
no subject
"You - you don't recognize me?" she asked, lower lip quivering in either a pout or an attempt not to laugh. "But Mommy!" Cassandra threw herself at Alec, reaching out for a hug. "Daddy!"
no subject
"Hi?" Alec said, gingerly patting Cassandra on the back even though he was well and truly confused. "I... you're talking about both of us? Together?"
But they were fake siblings! Alec wasn't the incesty one in his canon! What the hell?
Okay, no, he'd had a crush on his fake brother for years. That was a big lie.

"Please stop calling me 'Mom,'" she managed finally. "Because a) I'm 17 and b) that's just wrong."
no subject
"And I... am gay?" Alec reminded the room, since he didn't see anyone else around and it seemed relevant to the situation. "But -- Kate is a girl."
Things everyone in the room was aware of!

This was fun. She hadn't seen them so discombobulated since that thing that happened in London which was totally not her fault.
"Isn't it cool how he's so observant?" she asked Kate.
no subject
So. Weird timeline, Fandom thing. It had to be. Which meant rolling with it was the best idea. And never, ever accidentally falling down and having sex with Alec.
"So. Okay." Rolling with it was harder than she thought. "What's your name?"

no subject
Oh god, this had some legitimacy. Oh god.
"And you know we're... young now and haven't had you yet?"
no subject
Which was an accurate statement on a variety of different levels.
"It's time travel. Duh."
Duh was a terrible word. She would not be using that word again.
no subject
Okay, Alec gave up.
He glanced at Kate. "Are you okay?"
no subject
Didn't pregnancies after Prom only occur if you had sex?

It hurt his head to think about it, so he figured he might as well stop. "Do you shoot?" he asked Cassandra. They were in an archery range, after all. It would be kind of cool if she shot a bow and arrow too, wouldn't it?
no subject
no subject
"Do you shoot well is the question I'm curious about."

She raised the bow and loosed a series of arrows into the farthest targets. It was serviceable shooting, the arrows landed accurately enough, but she didn't put much flair into it. "See? I can shoot."

"It was good," she agreed, eyeing Cassandra again at the mention of 'Uncle Clint.' "She probably had to develop skills out of self-defense against us and our obsession."
no subject
LOL.

"Good to know," Alec evaluated.

With the insanity of Cassandra, she was on her guard about this guy. Because she never wanted to be called 'mommy' again.
no subject
Was that better than 'mommy'?
no subject
Kate glared at him. "No. Who are you?"

"...oh my God, you're Hawkeye's kid? And Tony Stark."
Charlie was going to have to forgive her laughing a lot.

See: Tony's self-esteem.
