6th Floor And Up The Stairs, Thursday Evening
Not everybody had just come home after the strip club last night. Atton figured he could stick around for another round and then see if maybe he could, ahem, talk to somebody.
It had all gotten out of hand from that point on; it would take a fifteen-episode TV series to fully document the series of events that Atton Rand lived through that Wednesday night. The details weren't important anyway - what was important was that Atton now had a lot of jugs of drinks (alcoholic and otherwise) that he couldn't sneak into a fridge (they'd be discovered), he couldn't drink (he'd get alcohol and/or sugar poisoning) and he couldn't sell on or off the island because then the people he'd stolen the drinks from would find him and--
Yeah, you didn't want to know.
So he'd come up with a plan. He'd keep the drinks cool on the booze until he came up with a plan.
After about an hour he figured out why that wouldn't work.
Now he'd dragged about half of it downstairs (before giving up on that), having labeled all the non-alcoholic drinks accordingly (with labels reading 'JUICE' or 'SPARKLY WATER STUFF'. Not non-alcoholic. What, unlike some people, he didn't want detention) and stamped a few post-its reading 'DRINK' on the good stuff.
Then he sent out a couple of texts at random.
It was Fandom. Someone would show up.

"O...kay." Well, all righty then. "Uh. Thanks for letting me know."
She crossed her arms over her chest, mostly just for something to do. She died in his world? Even if that version of her did, there were ways around that now that he had warned her, right? Kind of the opposite of a self-fulfilling prophecy? And... maybe her world would just be different. In general. She was here now, right?
"I could have sworn it was going to be something like 'we accidentally pick up another vampire again,'" she added. Because levity was totally appropriate in this situation.
Re: Arrive/Baffle [NFB]
His eyes darkened in concern. He'd said what he'd had to say, and he was glad to have done it, but -- "Are you gonna be okay with this?"
Re: Arrive/Baffle [NFB]
That was not the main topic at hand, Gert. At all.
"Yeah, I'll live." Oh, oops, that was more punny than she'd meant it to be. Slight surprise at that accidental pun showed on her face for a moment before she shook her head and moved on. "It's not like our worlds are necessarily exactly the same. And even if they were going to be, now you've warned me. So it's not set in stone."
It pretty much was, though, was the thing.
"Was it worth it? Whatever I was doing when I...?"
Re: Arrive/Baffle [NFB]
Either way, not the main topic.
"And yeah," he said more softly. "You go out saving Chase. It's actually amazing. But I still hope you don't have to go through it."
Re: Arrive/Baffle [NFB]
Anyway.
"And I think they are," she said, bouncing right back to the gossip because it was less, well, openly upsetting. "Kar told me so. They went on a date in town a month or so back, and they're both total catches, so I can picture it progressing."
Re: Arrive/Baffle [NFB]
Of Liara and Karolina, he added, "Yeah, I can see them together. They'd be cute."
Re: Arrive/Baffle [NFB]
Also, she was going to get drunk tonight, so she probably wouldn't wind up remembering any details. But that was totally unrelated.
