Monster Truck Rally Campfire : Tuesday Afternoon
Theo was pretty pleased that he'd managed to finish another semester without going out of his mind. Mitchell would have been proud of him if he was still around. Theo smiled at the thought as he took a seat outside of his bouncy castle and stretched his legs out.
Summer would be over soon and a new set of classes beginning but for now, Theo was free to do whatever he wanted. Ange and Dev were already shooting rapidfire suggestions at him (study, sunbathing, reading, swimming) which left Theo with the task of choosing what to do.
For now, he guessed he'd chosen sunbathing since he was outside and didn't have a book or anything to study with unless you counted his phone but he was using that to play some random game that Thom had recommended. Maybe later he'd go to the library.
If Dev had anything to say about it, he wouldn't. Ange was fighting a losing battle right now.
[Open campfire, yep]

"Uh, Peggle," he said once he recovered. "Some game a friend from home told me I should play."

"What do I do?" he asked, deciding to just press buttons in an attempt to make it look like he knew what he was doing. "Crush candy?"
no subject

And he'd done it a lot. Hey, his parents were never around and he needed stuff to entertain him.
"This is Bejeweled. With candy."
no subject
Another beat.
"And frustration."
no subject
He'd surmised that Bejeweled had infinite levels making it unbeatable just to make everyone and their brother cry in frustration.

He pushed a few more buttons and crushed some candy. It didn't seem to be that hard but he knew how these games went.
"What level have you managed to get to?" he asked after a second.
no subject
He just needed to share his pain with others. Sorry, Theo.
no subject
"You're right, it's totally just a game," he agreed. "But games are pretty darn addicting, aren't they? My psychologist could probably set up multiple sessions on why it's addicting and what it says about us."

Asked the reincarnated Norse god with adoption issues.

He struggled to find a word.
"...freeform, I guess? Like he's not trying to tie everything to my mom or dad or anything. We talk and he makes sure I'm doing all right."

"Very nice of you to say," Ange said, smiling proudly at Theo's words. "Dr. Brockton would be pleased."
"Dr. Brockton doesn't care," Dev told him. "All he was doing was making Theo think he's crazy. And he doesn't need that!"
It was an argument Theo had listened to before, of course. "I'm not crazy."
Thanks, Dev.
no subject
Yeah. Just admit that willy-nilly, Loki. That's polite.
no subject
"Theo, no..." Ange rubbed her temple and sighed."
"I'm...not," he said because he really didn't need people think he could read their minds. "I just -- people assume that I'm nuts when I say that I'm seeing a psychologist. It's a common assumption."

"You think I'd be a bad telepath too, huh?" At least he asked it nicer than Dev would have?

"I'm not," he replied with a shrug. "If I were a mutant, I'd probably have some useless mutant skill like...being able to grow long fingernails."

With two entities living in his head.
"Does this conversation mean you're a mutant?"
no subject
A beat.
"I am short for my race," he assured Theo. Just in case.
no subject

A beat.
"And then the subsequent collapse of Asgard to a ruin in the land of Oklahoma."
no subject
"Oh." Yeah, he didn't question because he didn't want to end up more confused. "So, are you gonna...grow up to be like giant sized?"

And more with the not really understanding any word coming out of Loki's mouth but listening anyway. It sounded interesting, at least.
"I dunno what I'd do if I had a brother who was a god."
He'd looked up to Mitchell and sometimes idolized him but he hadn't been a god.
no subject

He suddenly missed Mitchell.
"How'd he end up a god and you ended up a frost giant thing?"
no subject
Which was a nice way of saying he was a great big bag of dicks who starts the end of the world.
no subject
Might not be the right word there, Theo.
