Third Floor Common Room, Late Saturday Morning
There was oatmeal on the counter in the common room, and it looked fine. Just perfectly normal, as oatmeal should. You shouldn't be fooled, though. Isabelle had experimented with some spices there – you know, to just make it better, just in general, as you do when you're an enthusiastic amateur cook – and the end result, well, it wasn't great. At all.
As usual.
Isabelle herself was on a couch, using her phone to check out potential ideas for what she might want to do for her upcoming birthday.
Oh, and she was having cereal. Maybe that should have been a warning sign about the oatmeal.
[ooc: Open! It is never too early or late to meet Izzy or find out she can't cook. Also, entertain me. ... Now in the right place.]

That's what had sent him out earlier for a jog around the island several times just to get the blood flowing. And that's what brought him up one floor after he'd gotten back and showered.
"Morning," he said easily, giving her a brief wave. "Wasn't sure if anyone else would be awake just yet. Saturday and all."

More time in the day and all.

Don't want the oatmeal, Will. Just don't.

"You make it?" he asked, glancing over. "Nice of you."

He'd be feeling it less if he actually remembered to take some oatmeal to eat later. Hopefully the weird genetics thing would give him a hand there.
"Thanks for caring, I guess," he quipped, making his way over to the couches not that he'd successfully avoided the oatmeal for now. "I'll be sure to pay it forward."

And would never eat it, if he was lucky. "I'm Will. I live downstairs. I'm new. Just to get that all out of the way since all I've been doing this past week is introductions."

"Isabelle," she replied. "I live on this floor, and I'm so not new that I even visited almost a year before I enrolled here. Hi."

He nodded over at her.
"This is one of the few places -- " Bit of an exaggeration since there were a lot of places he'd never lived. " -- in one of the few states that I've never lived in. Didn't even know it existed before last week. The beach is cool, though."
He missed the Ojai Valley and its mountains but this wasn't bad at all.

Because they weren't really demons' thing, either. In New York, anyway.
"You've moved around a lot?"

He nodded again and went about finishing the orange juice that he'd found. Will made a mental note to buy a few things of OJ so he'd have some for later.
"Pretty transient family," he added. "I was in Wisconsin until I got here. Before that, the Ojai Valley."

Isabelle and geography of the parts of the US that didn't have major Institutes were not great friends.

Which made it easy to hide in, apparently. He didn't really get the choices his parents had made.
"Ended up in Wisconsin for school. Ended up here for...school." And other stuff.

Much.
"I made oatmeal."

So she shrugged, like none of it was a very big deal. "Maybe."
