Third Floor Common Room, Late Saturday Morning
There was oatmeal on the counter in the common room, and it looked fine. Just perfectly normal, as oatmeal should. You shouldn't be fooled, though. Isabelle had experimented with some spices there – you know, to just make it better, just in general, as you do when you're an enthusiastic amateur cook – and the end result, well, it wasn't great. At all.
As usual.
Isabelle herself was on a couch, using her phone to check out potential ideas for what she might want to do for her upcoming birthday.
Oh, and she was having cereal. Maybe that should have been a warning sign about the oatmeal.
[ooc: Open! It is never too early or late to meet Izzy or find out she can't cook. Also, entertain me. ... Now in the right place.]

"Like?"

"Wendigo," he said which was both truthful and the tip of the freaking iceberg. Dave was probably going to frown at him but he wasn't breaking any Hierarchy rules that he knew of.

"The kind with cannibalism?"
no subject
"Soul feeder," he returned, remembering Coach Jericho's words. "It's never satisfied though."
And it'd taken Dave. He frowned.

And where she was from, the myth was probably influenced by actual demonic activity, and also wasn't entirely accurate. But still. Yeah, she knew the word.

Unless he was hallucinating all of this which...might be the case. He didn't trust anything right now.

He'd learned that lesson fast.
"You sound knowledgeable," Will remarked after he'd idly read the label on his orange juice carton. "Book worm?"
He didn't think so.

The amused look on her face perhaps suggested otherwise.

Pfft, he really didn't care that much. It was better than he'd been treated in other schools.

"As if it matters! New kids don't believe half the stuff any old timers tell them in the first couple of weeks anyway."
Which was understandable, but kind of annoying.

Again, he wasn't being serious here. The tone was lazily amused and relaxed. It was a comfort to know he could still do that.

"Only to the one who was assigned to me," she pointed out. "And I'll have you know I have been an excellent role model to him."
She'd attacked him with a whip.

Sesame Street was timeless.

If you happened to have lived your entire life in a former church with no TVs, you were much more likely to raise an eyebrow and look confused.
Like Isabelle.
"... What?"

It really did not sound that interesting. Nor like something she'd feel sorry about having missed.
"Well, I'm glad you don't think I resemble a giant yellow bird. I would've had to be offended, otherwise."
no subject
Which didn't mean it was good but it'd still been something he'd liked to watch as a kid.
"But no, you don't resemble a giant yellow bird. Wouldn't wanna offend you, you might go read another book since you're such a book worm."
Of course she was. "Though, that'd be pretty dumb to take offense to. Really thin skinned and all."

But most girls probably didn't want to be compared to a big bird.
"And I probably will never take a pretty girl poll because that's a one way ticket to getting punched in the nose anyway."
no subject
Some girls were more imaginative than others. She also said that far too brightly.
This probably had something to do with why she'd beat up her fake little sib within a day of meeting him.
"You're right, it's much too dangerous."
no subject
Weird to think he might be there that long, though.
"But you seem excited at the prospect. That's...terrifying."
Not really but he could sound like he was appropriately terrified.

She ranked pretty low right now but he also didn't know her. "Very skilled, though? The cooking just a subsection of that skill set?"
