Fourth floor common room- Thursday evening

Gwen figured that as a treat for surviving most of her first week here (literally and figuratively), she'd just use a little bit of the spending money she'd been given before coming here to order a pizza, because she didn't feel like trying to cook.

When the delivery guy showed up with several she'd figured they were for deliveries elsewhere, but then there was a conversation including sentences such as "I only ordered one. One small," and "I'm not paying for all these," and "How do you even make money?"

Long story short, Gwen had a bunch of pizzas and she was only one girl so someone was going to have to help her with these.

Johnny had spent some time over in Baltimore today and just flew back in a streak of fire. It was a sexy streak, but a streak nonetheless.

Anyway, he landed on the roof of the dorms and started to make his way downstairs when he smelled the wonderful smell of too many pizzas. He could make it to his floor later. He needed to build up fuel after that flight.

"Thanks for getting enough for everyone, Gwen," Johnny said as he walked into the room. "It's appreciated."

"You're welcome? But apparently the pizza guy is a crazy person who comes armed with too many pizzas on the regular. Who knew," Gwen said, gesturing to the boxes. "Take as much as you want."

"Oh, don't worry, I was planning on it," Johnny said as he stopped in the kitchen to get some soda. "Maybe it was raining pizza on the guy and he just decided to give it all away for some reason."

Gwen started to speak, then started over.

"I was going to say that was a long shot but it wouldn't be the weirdest thing I've heard so far," she admitted.

"I'm pretty sure that it didn't happen," Johnny said. "I was just flying around and didn't see anything weird like that."

"Probably a good thing. Imagine the poor smushed pizzas," Gwen said, taking a slice. "Did you see anything cool?"

"I was over in Baltimore earlier, and I have to say, Maryland's kind of pretty from flying height," Johnny said, coming back and grabbing a slice of pizza. "Also, Maryland's bigger than I thought. Who knew that Baltimore was that far away?"

"Is it? I should probably look up where we actually are," she frowned. But then she go rid of the frown by taking a bite of pizza, because pizza was awesome.

"Yeah, it's about 90 miles, give or take. That's longer than I was expecting to fly today, so seriously, this pizza was well timed," Johnny said.

"I'm awesome like that," Gwen said modestly. "Was there a reason you went to Baltimore?"

"I heard there's crime to fight," Johnny said. "But by the time I got there I knew I had to conserve some energy, so I just checked out the harbor. I'll be ready next time."

"Huh. I didn't think you'd be doing all that out here for some reason," Gwen said thoughtfully. "I mean, crime's crime, it's not just in New York."

And New York probably had a lot of drowned criminals right now.

"Out of the entire FF, I was the only one who ever wanted to be a straight up superhero," Johnny said. "It's what I am. I'm not going to stop just because I'm in Baltimore. You could argue that Baltimore needs someone like m even more than New York. I've seen ~~meta for~~ The Wire."

"I'm not gonna tell you not to," Gwen said. "You do you. And it's kind of a relief that you're not all secretive about it."

It probably would have saved Peter some trouble if he was more open. Some. Proooooobably.

"We tried secret. It didn't work," Johnny said with a shrug. "Something about a fight with extradimensional aliens on the Vegas strip attracts too much attention."

"Did you try saying it was part of a show?" she wondered.

"Vegas shows don't usually cause that much property damage," Johnny said.

"It was worth a shot," Gwen said. "Has anyone here recognized you?"

"Nobody. Not even freaking Thor," Johnny said with an eyeroll. "He bought me beer once in our world! And this guy is apparently somebody else entirely."

"So... There's at least four of us from different realities?" Gwen said. "Everything is always weird here."

"I'm just going to go ahead and assume that everyone's from different realities until I hear something that changes my mind," Johnny said. "And then I'm not going to think about how that works because hell if I know."

"I wonder if I'm any different where they're from." Gwen said.

You were either dead or didn't exist, Gwen. Don't wonder too hard.

"I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you do, eventually you get obsessed and turn into a douchebag," Johnny said. "I don't want you to turn into a douchebag."
