Third Floor Common Room, Friday Afternoon

'Twas the end of the school week, and Edward had plans to celebrate it. Plans he was currently putting into motion: he had a bottle of something fizzy he'd nicked from one of the other common rooms, he had a bowl of nachos he'd stolen from yet another common room, and he had a sofa he was just borrowing to put his arse on.

It'd been months, but he was at least starting to adjust to the television. It no longer seared his eyes to look at it, and even the noise it made had started to sound almost natural.

So he turned it on, hit some numbers at random, and got... mice. Mice, dressed up as pirates, commanding a ship and raiding other ships for... cheese? Right. Well. Edward couldn't say he understood, but he could say he was too lazy to change the channel again. He'd asked Lady Luck for her recommendation, and this was what he'd gotten. So be it.

"Arrrr," he echoed one of the mice, idly.

"And I doubt the humans are impressed by mouse pirates either," Anders said, also laughing. "So your bravery might have to go unrecognized. Alas."

"At least I'll have all the cheese my heart desires," Edward said. "I'll cry myself to sleep in that."

"Sobbing on a bed of cheese," Anders snickered. "Maker, there's an image. I hope they put that on the TV."

"They've already put pirate mice on the damned thing," Edward pointed out, grinning. "What's a mattress out of cheese after that?"

He shot Anders a glance. "Anyway, Anders, mate. How've you been?"

"It's been a good week," Anders said, still smiling "There were the eels to fight Wednesday, then yesterday I did some training with one of the professors. And now I've got the whole weekend to do not very much. How are you?"

"It's the weekend, so not doing very much," Edward replied. "Got three classes a week this semester, so it's nice to have some time off."

From his terrible schedule of having to do something almost three hours every week.

"Tell me about it," Anders sighed. "I took four. They're all good but it feels like so much to do."

Four entire hours, Edward! Four!

"Next time, I'll ask for all my classes on the one day," Edward decided. "I'll have a very long weekend and one terrible, horrifying day of work."

"I dunno," Anders said thoughtfully. "That's a lot of time to fill on your own. You might get in trouble."

"I would never," Edward said.

Look at his innocent face!

"Of course not," Anders smirked. "Even if it might pose a temptation for a gentleman not of your caliber."

"There ain't many men who have the strength of will that I do, aye," Edward agreed. "But I am the most moral of gentlemen. Strictly quiet contemplation."
