FIRE DRILL!, Outside of the Dorms, Very Late Thursday Night/Very Early Friday Morning

The wind roared around campus this time of night. Temperatures had dropped to close to freezing, and clouds blocked out most of the fragile light of the moon.

Perfect time to ring the fire alarm for a test, right? Right.

Somewhere deep in the middle of the night, the alarm went off. Loudly. So grab what you can and bustle on outside, students! ... and let's hope this is over quick.

Hanna might have already gone back to dozing. Standing up. With the blanket tucked around her neck. Her eyes flickered open, shut. Open, shut.

"Damn, girl," Sparkle chuckled, watching her for a moment before shaking his head. "Maybe you might want another blanket so you can sit down or something, there?"

"Mmmm?" Open eyes, open! Hanna stared a Sparkle, trying to get the sense of that. "//Think on your feet. Even when you're asleep,//" she said in German, then shook herself. "What was the question?" She yawned.

"I was just saying that you'd probably be more comfortable if you sat down," Sparkle replied, looking puzzled as he held out another blanket her way. "Was that German?"

"Yes. Danke schen. Thank you." Hanna stumbled a few steps forward and into the blanket with a small sound of relief. "I said, think on you're feet, even when you're asleep."

"Bitte," Sparkle replied, speaking... pretty much the full extent of German that he knew, outside of Avenue Q songs. "Good words to live by, huh? It's one of those 'always be prepared for the worst' things that keeps a lot of people out of more shit than they bargained for."
