Third Floor Common Room, Saturday afternoon

Mara's sighed, "I wish there was something I recognized to eat," had let to a common room bursting with nerfburgers and blue milk, as well as a small mountain of exotic Coruscanti pastries.

"Sooo much better," she said, tucking into a burger and flipping through the channels. Maybe there'd be a movie she knew too!

Face was probably devoutly wishing the opposite.

Minako smelled foooooooooooood, and so had followed her nose down from fifth floor, Artemis trailing after her.

"Did you, like, buy enough burgers to feed the dorm lunch?" she asked, waving at Mara as she started poking through all the food options. "...huh. I think the milk went bad."

"No, it's supposed to be blue," Mara said. "It's out Outer Rim thing."

"Seriously? Space-milk? Cool," Minako decided, already heading to the cupboards to get herself a glass and try it, for an advaneture. "Does it taste good? Think it's cat-safe?"

Artemis flattened his ears, because no, SPACE CAT DID NOT WANT BLUE MILK, MINAKO.

"It's totally cat safe," Mara assured her. "It takes...okay. It's got a lot more vitamins of it because the people way out there in Nowhereville don't have much in the way of nutrition."

Space hicks, Minako.

"So it's a blue protein shake, and sadly doesn't taste like blue raspberry or blueberries or anything blue and tasty," Minako verified. "Got it."

She poured herself a small amount and took a sip, considering it for a moment. "Eh, that's not bad at all. I've had worse during training season," she admitted cheerfully, pouring a bit more into her glass. "Most of the really terrible protein and vitamin shakes that coach pushes on us taste gritty, not smooth. Still would be better if it tasted like blueberries."

"A lot of things would," Mara agreed. "I like blueberry. Try one of the burgers. It's made of nerf!"

"Sure! ...Nerf isn't sentient, is it?" Minako clarified, as she poured some more milk in a dish and set it down for Artemis. "I mean, I'll try almost anything, but I don't do sentient dinner."

"It's kind of a giant cow?" Mara offered.

Johnny made his way down the hall and stopped at the common room. "What's that weird smell?" he checked as he stepped inside. "And what's that weird food?"

Minako swallowed a mouth full of whatever-burger. "There is no such thing as weird food," she declared, pointing at Johnny. "Just culinary delights you have not yet tried!"

"That's where you and I disagree," Johnny said. "I mean, I'll still try... well, some of this stuff. But I'm not touching this (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Vercupti_of_sgazza_boleruue%C3%A9) unless it's with the hottest flame I have." He was pointing at... whatever that was. So gross.

"Well, yeah, that smells rotten, of course I'm not going to try it," she said, rolling her eyes. "--But Mara seems to know what most of it is, so I'm trying to sample at least a bit of almost everything. Like, um, a culinary cultural exchange!"

"I'll be sticking to what definitely looks safe," Johnny said. "My sister is a big time hot-shot xenobiologist and I don't know how many times she's warned me about eating things from other planets."

"Xenobiologist??? Like, aliens? Cool! Does she have her own lab? Is she ever going to come visit? If I wasn't trying to go pro-athlete that would be a totally cool job!." Minako enthused. "My mom says I have an iron stomach, so I'm not too worried. If Mara can eat our food without getting sick, hers should be fine. It's not like she's a dextro-based lifeform or something."

"She also does regular biology and weird human biology like mine," Johnny confirmed. "It's the kind of job you can only really get if you have three doctorates by the time you can vote. And I'm sure she'll visit at some point. We're pretty tight."

"So she's got super-brains, you've got super-hotness, is there anything you two can't do?" Minako teased. "You got a baby sister who's, like, super-speedy or something?"

"She can also make things invisible and make force fields," Johnny said. "Honestly, we're pretty awesome all around." Be a little less smug, Johnny.

"This is hooooome," Mara said, hugging a nerfburger. "It's delicious. You'll love it. Well, maybe not that thing over there--" she pointed to a dubious looking Huttese treat, "--but everything else."

"Oh, food from your world? Worlds? Galaxy thingy?" asked the Science TA. "Did you make it?"

"No," Mara said, frowning slightly. "It was just here when I walked in."

"Well, that's Fandom for you. Lots of food in every common room, always," Johnny said. He gestured at the food with a hand. It was even something of a wave. "I just wish I knew what all of this stuff was exactly."

And then he did.

"It is," Mara said, tilting her head. "How did you know that?"

"No idea. Does any of this stuff tell you what the rest of it is if you smell it hard enough?" Johnny asked. "Because that's my best guess. Ooh, this looks good."

He grabbed a burger of some sort while trying not to think about the fact that he knew exactly what it was.

"Not that I know of?" Mara offered a little dubiously. "And those are good!"
