Sixth Floor Common Room, Saturday evening

Between the smell of food, the sound of party music, and the sight of a lot of bottles (some of them even non-alcoholic!), it was clear that the sixth floor was ready for a party. Far away from yurts, and more importantly, far away from people who might be interrupted by a bunch of food, music, and drinking!

Summer was half over, everyone. Come on up and celebrate.

"Anything that gets me out of those weird tents is good by me," Nathan said, giving Johnny a quick wave. "Thanks for the invite."

"The people here are good people, and I'm not about to let someone go uninvited," Johnny said. "Especially a guy I vaguely know from a class or two. Nathan, right?"

"That's right," he replied, nodding. "And I know you from class and because I'm pretty sure you were crowned at one of the dances?"

"I am your Homecoming King, this is true," Johnny said. "I hope my reign over... your homecomings, or whatever, has been strict, but fair."

"No complaints," Nathan said, nodding sagely. "Though, I don't really know how well any rules you put in place would go. People here seem prone to rebellion."

"Rule number one: mandatory rebellion. Boom, done. Onto the next rule," Johnny said.

"Yeah, but would that even matter on this island?" he wondered, glancing around. "Seems like this is a pretty anything goes place."

"Gives people something to do, probably," Johnny said. "I haven't given it a lot of thought."

"That makes sense," Nathan agreed with a nod. "Rebellion on an island that probably doesn't really care. It'd be interesting, at least. This place would probably throw in a few quirks of its own. Red rain or something."

"I think it would probably be more whimsical than that," Johnny said. "Like Red Kool-Aid rain."

Nathan paused and then nodded. "Probably a better choice. But, I appreciate you not making those rules because I sleep outside sometimes and that sort of thing would make a mess."

"I'm pretty sure a plastic crown doesn't come with any law-dictating powers anyway," Johnny said. "But you're still welcome."
