Outside Kazakhstan yurt, Friday evening

Only a couple more days in the yurts! Hanna was back from feeding and playing with Velcro, who wasn't best pleased about being on his own. She had a campfire going, and was humming along to one of the songs on her player.

Also, there were marshmallows to roast.

After her song, Kathy had flung herself to the ground, completely out of breath. "Th-thanks," she wheezed, giving Ringo a V-sign and a grin. "You, too! And I clearly need to steal some of your music sometime."

Like, in a few minutes. When her body had gotten enough air or whatever.

Ringo laughed, letting herself collapse next to Kathy. "Not right now," she said. "I'm going to be busy, um, contemplating how awesome we are. Totally not catching my breath."

Ignore that panting sound.

"Absolutely," Kathy said, not at all breathing hard. That was ridiculous! "And I'm not tired or anything. I'm just admiring the view of the stars above us. Because I'm totally into nature. And stuff."

Suuuure.

"Yeah. Nature. And stars. Those are cool."

Ringo was grinning. "Maybe I'll close my eyes for a bit. Just to properly appreciate the sounds of nature, you know."

"That's a pretty good idea," Kathy agreed, yawning. "I mean, the lovely symphony of...crickets. And...mosquitoes. And...stuff. We should really give that our full attention."

Ringo's only answer to that was soft, even breathing.
