Face it: only having two classes, spaced out on different days of the week, wasn't exactly enough to keep a fourteen-year-old occupied. Sooner or later, April had time on her hands and decided she should explore.

Eventually she discovered the common room, and the wondrous amount of cooking supplies that lay within, and her squeals of delight could probably be heard from down the hall.

She cranked up the music on her phone loud enough that it could be heard through her headphones, and she got to baking. Well, dancing and baking. Cupcakes and Taylor Swift made for a good combination.

Thorin sighed. "I will allow you to review the plans."

Because you'd just end up with filigreed things anyway. He had a lot of energy, okay?

"Are you going to keep the scepter then?"

Blue looked warily at the scepter. "I thought it was yours."

"It was a practice attempt." Yes. This wasn't even his full effort, Blue.

"Sure, okay, whatever," Blue sighed.

At least a semester's worth. At least. His work wasn't cheap, you know.

"If I had access to better materials..." He would make armor. And then be critical of that armor.

"I don't know where you get half this stuff now!" Blue protested.

"I think I'm gonna pass. But you have fun with that." She was assuming 'mine' was code for something, yes.

STOP MAKING IT WEIRD, BLUE. HE WAS LITERALLY MINING THINGS.

"I have and will continue to," Thorin assured her.

OH GO "MINE SOMETHING," THORIN.

"I'm sure you will," Blue said somberly. And then she giggled.

Thorin just gave her a really confused look. Because they hadn't reached that point in Sex Ed.

He would be traumatized on his side of the room once that happened.
