The Roof; Friday Evening [09/21].
Truth be told, Prompto was a little afraid of the dark, which might make it seem a little weird that he'd go up to the roof that evening, as the darkness was just settling in, but there was one thing he'd come to realize about this place, something he should have figured with it not even being on Eos or anything, and that was something he found a little unbelievable and absolutely amazing.
This place had no daemons.
He'd practically ran back to the dorms through the streets of Fandom that first time after his shift at the C.I.C. was over. Sure, the streets were lit well enough, but way out here, without any walls to protect him, he had no idea what to expect. He took his time a little more earlier this week, no one had mentioned anything about being caught in the dark late at night, could this place really not have any?
He figured the roof would be a great place to really scope out any dark places to avoid; if it turned out to be unsafe, he could duck back inside quickly enough, no problem. And if everything was fine, if his theory was right, then he'd get to spend the evening doing something he'd never imagined himself able to do: kick back and look up into a night sky full of stars.
"Amazing!"
It was the little things in life, right?

Seriously, Kaidan, what were you thinking with these three?
"I mean, makes sense! Why wouldn't he want this crew to be fashionable and current? Reflects well on the business. I mean, he''s clearly taken a good step in the right direction by hiring us on the first place, might as well take it to the next level, right?"
no subject
Kaidan had brought this upon himself.
"Right????? Like, and if we all went together, then we could even find something that maybe, I don't know, shows we're all part of the team???? Not, like, a full uniform, but something!!!!"
no subject
"Clothing's important to a team," he agreed. "That's actually why I wear so much black, you know. It's pretty important symbolism with my crew back home."
He smacked a hand resolutely on the roof beside him. "That''s it," he said, "we're doing it. We gotta now! You think Vette'd be down for it, too, right?"
no subject
Vette was down with basically everything, except slavery, and this was just shopping. Totally fine.
"But!!!! Tell me about your crew????" she said, glancing at him. "What crew are you part of??????"
no subject
Ignis and Gladio definitely. He was still pretty up in the air, really.
"Hopefully."

"Oh my gosh!!!!!! You're, like, totally going to be a knight?????"
Nina was going to have to do some re-evaluating here. Sure, Prompto was cute, but she hadn't thought of him as, like, Matilda Knight cute.
no subject
Prompto laughed, lifting his eyes up to the sky again. "Yeah," he said. "I guess you could say that. A knight." Even with the gathering dark, it was clear to see him swell a little with pride. "I mean, Crownsguard is, like, the ultimate, you know, hashtag-goals, but if anything, I know i can at least get into the Kingsglaive....probably...so that would still count, right?"
no subject
They were all so dashing and polite and manly.
"You can totally do it," she said encouragingly. "Is there, like, a test you have to take???? Are you training for it while you're here????"
no subject
It was super cute, though.
"To get into the Glaive, yeah," he said, "but I think the Crownsguard's pretty much up to Noct." He hoped it would be that easy, anyway, but he wasn't about to take anything for granted. "But I'm doing what I can here, keeping in shape, improving my mind with...some of my classes." There was a slight roll of his eyes. Sure, kicking charts and listening to Elton John was fun, but he didn't see exactly how that was going to help him with...anything, really. "I should probably get back to working on my shooting now that I'm a little more settled, too. I've probably got..." He sucked in a breath, and let it back out with his words, "a lot of work to do still."
no subject
Nina would adore him.
"Vette and I could help you," Nina offered, reaching over to try and pat his arm. "Like, Vette's got blasters???? Which I bet are closer to whatever shooting you need to learn than anything I might know????? And I'm not bad in a fight at all!!!!!"
That was Nina being modest. Nina was a beast in a fight.
no subject
He know he'd be doomed within a second.
"Yeah?" he asked, chuckling as he grinned at her. "What kind of fighting do you do?"
no subject
And once she had enough money to upgrade it, that bookbelt was going to get even more terrifying.
"Or, like, zap them with magic!!!!!" It was, uh, rather too dark for the runes on her palms to really show though.

no subject
For her. Not so for many, many other people.
"And my bookbelt is what I carry books around in," she said, which... well... was maybe a bit obvious? "It's a belt meant to be tied around books!!!!"
no subject
The grin he tilted at her then seemed to suggest that he wouldn't be too surprised if that was the case, but it didn't linger too long with that other part hanging there as well.
"But right now," he said, "you're pretty much telling me you beat people with books? Am I getting that right? Books on a belt?"
no subject
And she... she hadn't.
Anyway.
"But yes!!! Mostly romance novels!!!!!"
Because Nina loved her trashy books and it was great to beat enemies with them and then go read later.

"Yes!!!!!!"
And also hilarious.

It sounded absolutely ridiculous and amazing, and this coming from the boy kicking charts yesterday.
