The Roof; Friday Evening [09/21].
Truth be told, Prompto was a little afraid of the dark, which might make it seem a little weird that he'd go up to the roof that evening, as the darkness was just settling in, but there was one thing he'd come to realize about this place, something he should have figured with it not even being on Eos or anything, and that was something he found a little unbelievable and absolutely amazing.
This place had no daemons.
He'd practically ran back to the dorms through the streets of Fandom that first time after his shift at the C.I.C. was over. Sure, the streets were lit well enough, but way out here, without any walls to protect him, he had no idea what to expect. He took his time a little more earlier this week, no one had mentioned anything about being caught in the dark late at night, could this place really not have any?
He figured the roof would be a great place to really scope out any dark places to avoid; if it turned out to be unsafe, he could duck back inside quickly enough, no problem. And if everything was fine, if his theory was right, then he'd get to spend the evening doing something he'd never imagined himself able to do: kick back and look up into a night sky full of stars.
"Amazing!"
It was the little things in life, right?

"Oh my gosh!!!!! Prompto!!!!!!!! I haven't seen you in, like, forever!!!!."
At least, not to talk to him.

Which was more than she could say for so, so many things.

Because the other option had been, like, to let her bestie go around in the same clothes all the time and that hadn't been happening.
"But, like, I've mostly figured out the phone by now!!!!!! I can even text!!!!"
Slowly, but hey. And she hadn't yet figured out the whole getting more apps thing yet. But it was tangible progress that Nina was proud of.

Though he...honestly didn't know what to think of those names....but of Demon Marcus was the only damon here, that'd be alright.

She considered that.
"Ooooooooooh! And Kaidan said that, like, if what Vette and I, if we didn't have enough money to get the things we need, we could send the bill to him!!!!!!!!"
He'd mentioned in coming out of their paycheques later but pfffffffft, he was such a pushover that Nina wasn't worried about that. After all, she'd hired herself.

Seriously, Kaidan, what were you thinking with these three?
"I mean, makes sense! Why wouldn't he want this crew to be fashionable and current? Reflects well on the business. I mean, he''s clearly taken a good step in the right direction by hiring us on the first place, might as well take it to the next level, right?"
no subject
Kaidan had brought this upon himself.
"Right????? Like, and if we all went together, then we could even find something that maybe, I don't know, shows we're all part of the team???? Not, like, a full uniform, but something!!!!"
no subject
"Clothing's important to a team," he agreed. "That's actually why I wear so much black, you know. It's pretty important symbolism with my crew back home."
He smacked a hand resolutely on the roof beside him. "That''s it," he said, "we're doing it. We gotta now! You think Vette'd be down for it, too, right?"
no subject
Vette was down with basically everything, except slavery, and this was just shopping. Totally fine.
"But!!!! Tell me about your crew????" she said, glancing at him. "What crew are you part of??????"
no subject
Ignis and Gladio definitely. He was still pretty up in the air, really.
"Hopefully."

"Oh, Prompto. Hello."

"Hey, there, Lana, how's it going?"

At night. Without daemons. With stars. He didn't think he could put it into words how cool that was for him even if he tried. And he was pretty sure if he tried, he'd just sound ridiculous.

"Not at all," he said. "Big city boy like me, you don't see much of the night sky, especially with the lights always on. I've never really been very outdoors-y, either, but this..." He gestured out at the island, "...this is nice. Beautiful, really. I might have to make some adjustments to my camera for some better night shots, but the lighting's too tricky to be much good now."

And he was both grateful and disappointed with the fact that he didn't have nearly enough confidence to say something like other than you. But he mostly almost died just over the fact that he even thought it.

She shook her head. "All the other loveliness is in the learning, the holocrons and inscriptions, scrolls and datapads."
The Academy was designed to be terrifying, not pretty.
