Second floor common room- Monday morning

Sabine only had one class on Monday, and she had just planned on getting some caffeine before having to go, except she walked into the common room to find puppies. Random puppies. Adorable, tiny, fluffy baby puppies.

She didn't know where they came from and obviously they wouldn't be staying, but could anyone blame her if she ignored the caffeine to pick one up and cuddle him? (The answer was no, not unless they were a monster.)

[Snow day! You need puppies, come play.]

"Well," said Prompto, as loftily as one could when they were on their knees, covered in puppies, lifting his chin importantly, which meant getting his chin very eagerly licked, "I am an expert. I'm a certified puppy wrangler."

No. That was a lie, he wasn't, but he knew that if he went to Zack about it, it would be a thing in two-point-five seconds.

...he was totally going to Zack about it.

"I get paid for this kind of thing."

"At Furnado it is, yeah," Prompto said with a big, dopey, puppy-fueled grin. They were so wriggly! But he didn't mind. "And Zack's really cool about people just popping in to play with them, it's actually really good for the puppies, that's kind of how it all started. I was in every week until we just finally decided to make it official, I think when we had that job fair?" He couldn't remember; it was hard to tell. It was almost as if he was always a part of Furnado, in spirit, anyway. "But, either way, I go in, play with puppies, do some work, get paid, play with more puppies. Preeeeetty niiice."

"Well, the puppies get worn out eventually," Prompto explained, his grin now a bit whimsical and fond. "And then they take a nap. That's when you work. Or possibly let the vet working that day know to wake you up if anyone comes in so you can just nap with them."

Yeah, he kiiiinda had this worked out to a science over here.

"Ohmygod," Prompto gushed, "I have taken so many pictures of sleeping puppies."

And some of them weren't even selfies with sleeping puppies! He would show her, too, except, you know, arms full of doggos thing. But he very clearly approved of this idea.

"If you ever wanted to come in when they're all good and tuckered out," he offered, "I've got the Friday shift. They're pretty down for the count and at max sleeping adorableness by the afternoon."

"Aw, man." Somehow, Prompto's grin managed to get a little bigger, just in time for a well timed licked on one of the puppies' part, as he realized something. "And then when they wake up, they'll be so excited to find a new person to play with! Yeah, I think this is a good idea, Sabine. You come in and you draw those puppies. Draw all the puppies!"

"You're not allowed to walk out with any puppies," Prompto vowed, trying to look solemn as he nodded, though it was hard not to chuckle. "I think I can handle that. I mean, unless...I'm not going to have to worry about you smuggling dogs away in your armor or anything, am I?"

Prompto's face fell, agonized. Tortured.

By all this cute.

"Ohmygod," he said, "now I'm thinking about puppies in helmets, and its is too much, Sabine, you're killing me. You have to go get your helmet because I have to take a picture of that, like, right now."
